Have a 96' Tacoma 2.4l just installed a brand new engine, new radiator, new battery. Had alarm system installed and when I would turn the key there was no power to the starter. Contacted the alarm installer and held the button to bypass the alarm and the starter clicked one time and now I have no interior lights or buzzards or anything. Checked fuses and all are good inside and out. But nothing is working in the cab. Radio, heater/a/c, lights headlights taillights nothing is working. Tried new electrical side of the ignition switch and still nothing at all. All fuses have over 12 volts and nothing is working help help help pls

One big fat Alt 80a fuse powers all those circuits, its likely an unserviceable fuse. Is it possible it grounded out during the engine work?

Also any grounds left loose? like on the back of the intake etc..?

80 amp fuse checks out good, all grounds are hooked up and have voltages at all the fuses under the hood and beneath the dash. No interior or exterior lights however. No radio. No dome lights. No buzzards no instrument panel no nothing.

When I first installed the battery the alarm kept going off. I held the button to disable the Alarm and the starter clicked one quick time and then nothing worked

Also tried a new electrical side of the ignition and no changes. Integrated relay module maybe?

I would check the alarm fuses... More importantly chech the starter kill relay that was installed during the alarm. It may be wired wrong or still engaged by the alarm brain.

I am guessing you have a fault in your new alarm

I would get the alarm installers to come fix their mistake.

I hate alarms because most times Scotch Lok connectors are used which results in problems just like the OP

Truck is currently running and it was one of the alarm grounds shorted to power when they put the panel on beneath the column they smashed the disable button wires and shorted it out also. After removing the alarm and rewiring it correctly myself the issue is fixed
