hello everyone, new member here from AK. Been looking over the site ever since i bought my 2016 tacoma trd sport but never came across becoming a member.

I have been doing quite a bit of research but would consider myself very new to all this.

Some of the mods I am looking at doing in the near future are:

    1. k02s, or open country r/t's sized anywhere from 265's up to 285's on 16 or 17's

    2. Wheel wise I like the solid matt black style, not too flashy. Maybe something from scs or fuel but not too picky with brand names.

    3. New to the whole lift kit stuff but i would like atleast a 3" lift. 4" at the most. I have looked at toyotec, rough country but am not exactly sure what to look for and what extras I need to get.

    4. Looking at a bakflip mx4 tonneau cover (hard) although i am open for other brands

These are just some options I am currently looking at. I am very new to trucks, and mods in general. Any info on this would be appreciated.

I personally went with 16" wheels for more sidewall for offroad. Not that you cant offroad with 17s. Plus 16" tires are cheaper.

Im also a fan of matte black wheels. Along with your list, Procomp also makes a selection of matte black wheels.

Yours is a 2016, so im not sure, but at 3-4" of lift you may need adjustable upper control arms for alignment correction. Just something to think about. Someone will chime in on that.

Your going to have a lot of fun modding that truck. I test drove a 16 sport yesterday while getting my truck inspected at the dealer. The 16 is definitely a very nice truck.

I do like the look of the 16's more. Just checking out the procomp wheels and lift kit. Looks like a decent product. Thanks for showing me those. Ive got a lot to look at hah

First...... Welcome to the club! As far as mods go, it all depends on what you are planing on doing with it. Will it be mostly on pavement with the occasional off road, or are you planning on spending a lot of time off road? For a lift moondeath is right, you are going to need new UCA if you go above 3" and stick with the 16" wheels. I have had fairly good luck with Toyo and Cooper tiers. There is one really important thing to keep in mind when modifying your truck. Once you start, it's a slippery slope and starts to snowball fast. That being said, it's totally worth it and a blast to do. When you get a chance you should post some pictures of your truck.
