Fairly new to the site so bear with me on my random posting (may be a thread on this already), but I got myself a few days off of work due to a busted end yoke so I decided to take advantage of the time and start on project plasti dip. Not doing the whole truck (don't want to go overboard) but just the bumpers, grill, flares and bottom somewhere around the body lines. Mainly doing it to cover up some imperfections until I can afford new flares and either buy or fab some bumpers.

Just finished my bumper and front flares but I'm k20160912_184632.jpg ind of stumped on where I want to make that line on the side, been looking at Google for a while but didn't see enough to convince me on the placement. So if any one has done this mod or know any one that has with a few pics...they would be greatly appreciated! Thank yall!

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Rockers and 6" (sounds good and matches lift) up from the bottom of the doors

Was your goal to make it look like you were in an accident and put on a non painted bumper and flares?

I want to do grill surround. Can you just clean it real well? I read somewhere that you need to rough up the chrome.

Just clean it and spray and you should be fine, might take an extra coat or two on the chrome but it will work.

I'm hoping a few coats of glossifier will get rid of that primed look. It does look like I replaced it lol. Should have taken pictures of it before I painted it. Had a buddy of mine stuck in front of me mudding and the only way I was going anywhere was to push..."just put a log in between us. It'll be fine" he said. He came out smelling like roses and I got the bumper that looked like a bear tried to make his bitch.

Dipped the grill a few months back to see how well it worked. Just cleaned it real well with soap and then with acetone...then 4 coats. Only have a few chips in it after 4 months. Another coat will have it looking brand new again.
