I bought a 2014 Tacoma new and the first 6 months I had it the trans. would slip and jerk and after 3 or 4 tries they finally figured out the seal between the trans and transfer case was bad.So that was fixed and now the radio has gone out and they have ordered a new one.I don't think Toyota quality is what it used to be.........................

I think you are having some terrible luck.

Sorry to hear about this... I havent had any "REAL" problems with my 2014. Here is the thing though... They have given you a 3 year/XX,XXX mile bumper-bumper warranty, if they didn't make it right I think there would be a bigger problem. They have replaced SO MANY frames from 1st gen and 2nd gen way way out of warranty period. A lot of the problems is not so much with Toyota engineering or manufacturing, but rather parts suppliers, that given, there are some overall quality control issues showing face with the late 2nd gen and 3rd gens.

Had the rear differential replaced on my '14 at 17,000 miles. Toyota Quality? Not so sure.

0 issues with my 2014 other than the roof drip strip coming loose on one side.

New vehicles are always going to have a quirk or two and with 150k+ Tacomas every year there's always going to be something not quite right. That's what the warranty is for. Look at True Delta if you want to see how your other pickup options stack up, even factoring in the fullsize segment the Tacoma is easily one of the most problem free modern pickups.

For sure. Its inevitable that some will have problems, but overall the majority of tacomas are problem free from major issues. True Delta is a good site to see which vehicles have the least and most problems. Tacoma has very few issues compared to other makes.

My 13 has had no major issues. Ive had some squeaks from the hood latch.

My 2014 Tacoma (with 16,000 miles) has had one of the catalytic converters replaced under recall. Although a 4 cylinder, it was not one of the ones affected by the valve spring recall. No other problems.

09/13. Mine has the 3 leaf rear springs. Apparently, they went to a 4 leaf soon after that. For my purposes, the 3 leaf is fine.
