Yea mine does this. I've had the most recent TSB applied and it fixed my other tranny issues, but this one persists. In the grand scheme of everything that seems to be wrong with this truck, I'll let others take the lead on pushing the fix for this one.

It might have to do with the tow package . The truck has tow package the power stearing is part of it. See if it happens when you move the stearing wheel.

Ac cycling while turning the wheel. Makes a little sense now but figured the extra draw wouldn't cause a surge.

The little things stand out with this truck after coming from a 2015 tundra. The tundra had no issues at all for me.

Yes, mine also surges when in reverse. V-6, AT, tow package, 4wd. Not always, and most often when it is first started from cold. The a/c is usually not on when this happens. I think there is a real possibility that an unexpected surge could result in a low speed collision while backing. It is one of the issues I plan to raise when the truck is in for the 6 month service.

Mine does in reverse and drive at first start sometimes, but not a big deal. It drives fine after a few minutes without recurring. The delay from reverse to drive is there also, but also not an issue. Less than half a second won't kill me waiting for it to engage.

Mine does this as well. I have gotten used to it. Makes it dicey getting out of my garage in the morning. I don't have much room for error.
