    So, i was trigger happy and bought a used 2006 K&N air filter off Craigslist. The problem is I have a 2012. I looked the part numbers up before I bought it and thought they were the same, but after watching instruction video's, and looking at the print out of the instructions I see they are different.
    Has anyone successfully put a 2006 filter in a 2012 model? I know it's not ideal, but for the $50 I have into it, is it possible, or are there fundamental differences?

    Way different mounting hardware, truck runs though, but not driveable cause of the hardware and a lack of support/protection.
