I have a 96 5lug. Just got 235/75/15 tires and a 3"spindle lift in front. The lift helped a lot and I no longer have any rubbing

    AAL or Shackles ???

This is the current state of my rear suspension...IMG_0349.jpgIMG_0350.jpg

It's all you bro. I have AAL on my 5 lug and it works well. It's probably easier to install than the shackles and I think you get more height.

got Bilstein 5100 for rear with Wheelers off road progressive AAL. Ride is a little stiffer but its still nice, and the truck sits level now

Fat Bobs 2.75 lift and level with short AAL, 16x8 Level 8 Guardian Wheels, 245/75R16 Toyo Open Country ATII, custom trans shift kit(home made), Trans temp. and Vac gauge, URD fuel pump upgrade(going back to stock soon).
For those with the Fat Bob's kit or Ready Lift 2.75 kit on a second gen you can run Prerunner shocks in the rear. They fit right up and are valved right for the trucks.

Have you thought about fiberglass fenders?

I havent thought about it at all. How much do they usually cost ? And what is the benefit of having them ?

The Bilsteins are great. They handle pretty much everything really well. The truck is still pretty still due to the AAL but I can tell that the bilsteins are handling just fine. I have only driven on the road so far. Drove from LA to SF recently and everything felt fine. Just waiting for the AAL to break in a little more.

There is finally some npac energy hitting the west coast so I will be heading down baja soon and will be able to take it off road and see how it handles

Not sure if they are prerunner specific. Just standard Bilstein 5100s

Fiberglass fenders increase the clearance for larger tires. Not to mention the look badass. You can see them at Glass Works Unlimited or Fiberwerx.

They also protect your paint from rocks, dirt, and mud. I'd recommend Bushwacker.

I'm not talking about fender flares, bud. Fiberglass fenders

Kevin king is right though. Bushwacker makes excellent fender flares. However, they won't increase clearance

Hmm. I think the fiberglass fenders might be a down the line purchase. I'm pretty happy with it now, but I think just a little more tire clearance would be perfect.
Bushwackers seem to be pretty popular on TW, but I really like the ones from glassworks unlimited
