Anyone else notice that the pillars on the double cabs are just a decal?

I noticed today that between the pillar between front and back doors is black, ok sure. But most cars it's powder coated metal or something. If you open the door here its just a decal, that appears can be removed and its painted underneath.

I wondered what it would look like if you removed it. Maybe someone here already did it? Not sure if it would look better or worse.

Cool thank you. I didn't realize they are called B Pillars, no wonder my search didn't do much. Thank you for the tips and info!

It would look like a 2nd gen Tacoma double cab, one of ~986,000 made...

Jokes aside, the B-pillar is a common grab area when closing the door. On my 2nd gen, I ended up applying a vinyl decal there (bought from eBay) to protect the paint. So it may be a good idea to leave the OEM vinyl as-is.

Most vehicles use vinyl for this area now a days. Easier to take off if you don't like it. I like the fact that it give the area an undivided look.

It looks better with it on. We used to put vinyl on b pillars all the time to achieve the look that most cars come with stock nowadays. I guess people always want something different than what they have.

To each his own. I happen to like it on/off depending on the color of the truck.
