WHY?? cant i find the size

hey guys. im wanting to put a 33" tire on my 04 xtracab and i am aware of the minor trimming and bending the pinch weld down and all that. my plan was to just save a few dollars and keep my stock wheels that are 16s and get some spidertrax spacers to make them fit. well after a little research i found some steelies for 60 each local so i will be going that route. well they are 15" wheels so i need the new tire size. for the 16s its 285/75-16. which should come out to be about 33x11x16. whats the same equivalent for the 15? i have put it in on tirerack.com as a 33x11.5 but it never finds anything. so i need the metric size

 

285/70/15 but they are very rare. Go to a local tire shop and ask them.

 

might be something like 285-80-15

 

That would be more like it but I don't think they make something like that.

Yea, I know it wasn't 33" but I don't think they make anything like this.

285-80-15 width = 11.22" diameter = 32.95

 

yeah i doubt they exist but he wanted a size my guess would be that he would have to get a 255 or a 305

I think that you would have to probably run a 33x12.50x15

 

go with the 255/85R16 they are great i just got a set of the maxxis bighorns, they measure 33.5x10.25

 

How wide of a 15 will you need to run a tire that = 33"? 15x8 or 15x10? How wide are the steelies OP purchased? 15x7? Might wanna consider the rim width first before trying to stick a 305 on a 7" rim. If you want 33" tires, I'd consider getting 16 or 17" rims, much less hassle to find tires and many more choices IMO...........

 

they will be 15x8 with a 4" backspacing. i want to stay with a 33 tho. i know it can be done. i was told by someone on here that you can put an 11" tire on a 8" rim without a problem.
