Help with broken antenna

So while trail riding my antenna broke off where the silver stud goes into the black rubber piece. Does anyone have any advice or pictures on how to fix this?

 

Left hand drill bit. Drill in center med speed. Stop, Then tilt the drill to catch the side of the hole very slow speed. Walk it out.

 

same thing happened to me.I bought a broken screw extractor bit at Ace Hardware.It worked great.I bought a new antenna from amazon.It was half of the cost of a Toyota one.

 

Make sure you go slow and get it out. I ended up crushing the threads and had to replace they entire essembly. Wasn't fun or cheap.

 

Well, drilling it out didn't work, any suggestions on how to replace the silver piece? What parts are needed? What's the best way to do this?

 

I always just replaced them with aftermarket antennas

I find they work better and much better then a broken one

Unless your the type it has to be factory .

I am pretty sure all my vehicles have replacement antennas

Junkyard seems like the best way to fix this since it's a weird bunch of parts and probably doesn't get parted out much and can withstand most impacts.

 

Well that's to bad. Sometimes they don't cooperate. Like others have said your going to have to replace the assembly.

 

There's a thread on how to replace somewhere. I'm sure someone will link it. I cam tell you it's no fun replacing the body. You pretty much need to replace all parts. Just on yourself a favor and buy 6-7 of the wheel well clips that hold it in. It's easier to just destroy them instead of trying to save them
