Not a chance. Already too many issues waiting for Toyota to resolve with TSB. Not going to risk voiding warranties by adding mods. In fact FTS and Service manager both told me to hold off on doing anything to my truck until they have an official fix for the leaf springs and the rear differential issues. TSB should be coming in the next 30 days for the rear diff. Leaf springs might be longer. Until they recommended not even adding aftermarket/larger tires because then Toyota could say the noise is caused by the tire tread or the wear on the rear differential is caused by larger tires. Then it would be up to me to lawyer up and fight with the magnusson moss act

sprint booster doesn't show up at all.

it just plugs into hte pedal.
Put it in drive with it. when you bring it to dealer just take it out. No way of them knowing.
Dude mention to them to check backlash on the ring and pinion.
Who knows, maybe thats all it is and toyota are lost on how to build a 8.75 diff.

They have already looked into all of this. They have been replacing a ton of these rear carrier assemblies, this is a known widespead issue and they are not providing details on the fix. They do not crack open the carrier assemblies in the shop this is not what their techs are qualified to do. They have been shipping the recalled diffs to a Lab for inspection purposes and so that they can determine the best fix going forward. It takes time for these engineering solutions to be devised, tested and approved. There is no "interim fix" or "quick fix"....this is going to be a TSB that comes out and may even be a recall.

I agree. I spoke to Toyota Care people yesterday and asked the dipshit to give me all the TSB's for the 16 Tacoma. First he said there weren't any and I said oh yes there are. In a little tiff he said hold on and I'll have to check. Good idea I replied as he kept me on hold for 15 minutes. When he returned he humbly said "you're right sir, there are two; 77 and 53." He also said that 77 is covered under the emissions warranty and 53 under the regular warranty, whatever. I also asked about the leaf springs and I
swear he didn't know what they are. Seeing that I taxed his brain I just left it alone. I had to jam anyway. Nice to see that the Toyota Ivory tower is right on their game.

I emailed them asking about extended warranty and what not and they're telling me all this different shit. They don't even know anything about the trucks. They eventually just said talk to service manager lol

I know you have issues with your truck, but I am one of the fastest away from the light and my truck is up shifting at 2500 or less. I don't think it has ever seen 4 grand let alone 5.

All of those issues you guys are talking about are only relative to 2016 right? Mine seems to drive perfectly, after 3500rpm that VTAK kicks in a goes good. Im sure when the 33's are on it will be a little different.

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
A lot of the issues people are describing here are "feeling" issues too, so keep that in mind. Throttle response being a big one. I did the TSB 0077-16 for the Delayed Engagement, but you could only notice it when the truck was cold, like first thing in the morning. It didn't' really change shifting much or at all, tho some will tell you it was a big difference, it is likely not but they are thinking or hoping it is.

However, you're coming from a GM product, just like I did, and are already used to electronic transmissions controlling shifting and the "Torque Management" systems GM employed to improve gas mileage. At times it makes your truck's acceleration feel laggy, but you've certainly already experienced this with the GM, so it's less of a feeling change for you.

If you like how it drives, I'd recommend not looking for trouble, cause you'll find a lot of negatives on this forum. However, I'm very happy with it, and it feels like I think it should. If you want it to be Torque-ier, hit the ECT Power button. Works exactly like the Tow/Haul button on your 2500HD.

I hear ya I had a 2013 Powerstroke Lifted 37's and as soon as I got it all done I traded back to a Tacoma too. I missed the size of the tacoma, I had bought a 5th wheel trailer and needed a big truck to pull it. I wasn't sorry to see the Powerstroke go. Good luck with your Tacoma purchase.

Yeah I get it how most people always like to post negatives but will never take the time to post a positive experience. Just how it works, like restaurant reviews lol. Just how the internet it. So far I find the power to be sufficient enough for what I do now. Good to know on the ect power, i did notice so difference in shifts and rpms when using it.

Good to see I am not the only one to make the same move. So far I enjoy it a lot more, so easy to get around the city instead of Austin powering the parking lot.
