That's quite the list of unfortunate events. Did you try to bait a bear right off the road? Seems odd elk hunters wouldn't move but guys that camp in houses tend to be asshats nowadays.

I saw a lot of black bear scat and tracks this weekend. Didn't see one though. Also was skunked on elk. I heard one bugle when I arrived, saw fresh sign, searched the woods like a mad man and nothing. Looks like I pulled into the area as the elk were leaving. My girlfriend pulled in and told me the other areas were a zoo so I stayed and walked further. Still no elk. Let's hope I get in them next weekend. I can hunt into rifle season but not sure I want to be walking the woods with those nut jobs

Just got back from my 3 day deer trip. I think the recent monsoons, warm temperature and the full moon fucked us because there was no movement in the day and after waking up each morning there were new deer tracks and scat near the streams we were by. Hiked miles trying to follow, glassed everywhere, didn't see one deer as they were hunkered down in the day and active in dead of night. Oh well, my unit I get another chance for the first week of January and hoping I can get one then. Probably be way better for temp and also may be able to call one in.

Managed to bag a doe. The deer and elk sightings have been so thin, I was not being to picky. Should make some nice jalapeno cheddar sausage.
Still have one week left and an unfilled elk tag.

yeah I had some kind of activity yesterday but nothing last night. I put some more bait out and see how that goes. Theres so much food available right now even the deer and elk are in the high country/deep brush feeding like its going to be a bad winter. I think the bear arent too eager to get some rotting bait when they have fresh fawns/meat to eat.

I ordered more broad heads from solid broad head company last week. They are awesome and fly near perfect to my field tips. Since I lost one last season, I didn't feel comfortable with only having 2. Well the package came, they all fly the same. So I have five now. Happy as can be.

Then I received a knock on the door today and a familiar package showed up. Some ordering mishap must have happened because they resent the order. Had to double check my bank account to make sure I didn't order them twice. I ordered two day shipping the first time and it took 6 days, so I don't feel too bad about their mistake .

Anyways, not sure how I will proceed but I may have 100 gr Solid broadheads with 1/2" bleeders for sale.

The owner of one of the properties I hunt told me that he has seen some nice bucks walking along the tree line where I have my stand posted. Two more weeks!

I wouldn't trade my G5 strikers 100g for nothing!!!! For the money, I've never found one yet to fly as true as these do. And I love the fact that the cutters are easily replaceable.
I sent one down thu the chest cavity & out the rear leg, now that's a wound channel
