Colorado requires front license plates. In my previous vehicle I not only got a warning but a second warning. And that second warning was labeled "second warning." Hard to believe that tracking front plates is priority given the many important things that law enforcement is neglecting.

Those of you with non-oem offroad bumpers, where have you hid or put your front plate and what didn't pass?

I am buying a front bumper and there is really nowhere good to put the plate. It either gets in the way or it looks stupid AND gets in the way

    Pictures are greatly appreciated.

The ricers in SoCal would put them on the dash on top of where the VIN is or put them on one of the sunvisors and just leave it down so that it's displayed at all times.

You could bolt on some tube clips and clip the plate to the front horizontal bar just above the fairlead.

The ricers in SoCal would put the legally mandated plate on top of the VIN, so no one can check the VIN? That is kinda funny.

    Yeah that is an option.
I think there will still be a way to put it where you have it. I was planning to put it off to one side, but the license plate is taller than the bumper is thick. It might get crunched alot.

Anything ricers do is funny. They had perfectly fine stock bumpers but would put their plates on the dash or sunvisor.

I have seen guys that trim the plate along the mountain edge to make it a smaller profile and fit on a smaller space. I don't know if that's legal, but I've seen it on some front bumpers.

I'm pretty sure someone makes a mount for this.

You could also zip tie it to the grille or stick it on the plate portion of the bumper with some double sided tape.

I used to just use magnets till someone stole both plates.

i can build a mount it is more a question of where will it not get in the way but not get me a ticket

I just didn't bother, Washington requires them but no one checks or cares. I have the plate in the truck but it looks ugly and impedes function wherever it is placed. I find it strange that the police track you for that. Maybe you should see if Colorado has an expemption process, Washington has one.

I had a 97 Maxima here for years, no front plate and no front plate on my 04 Xterra. Never been bothered. So I have no front plate. Took it off, cleaned up the holes and put some panel plug things in to make it look a bit cleaner.

FYI- Colorado does require front plates, however doesn't seem to be "enforced" much.
