I'd rather be behind it than in front of it....

That reminds me of what they say about John Deere and their warranty. They stand behind everything they make except their manure spreaders.....

Kinda like the brake repair shop that says "We Stand Behind our work!"
If their work is so good, they should stand in FRONT of it!

I have a black bull bar. Its totally unfunctional. As far as a crash enhancer... well if a Taco gets hit in the front with no aftermarket bumper like ARB its totalled anyway. I've been thinking hard about ditching it and getting an armored bumper but the mileage hit is real. We can all pretend mileage doesnt matter but truth be told, there are more threads on shitty mileage than there are on front end noise. SO here I sit with the bull bar.

Bull bar = damage extender. If you rear end someone and the bull bar will bend into your grill & radiator, extending further damage. What the point of bull bar besides fashion?

If you rear end someone enough to fold the bull bar, you would have totaled the front end anyway. These trucks arent made of strong steel.

The thing I would be most concerned with is the fact that the thing is bolted to your frame. Without it, you have the bumper to absorb the impact of a crash (up to a certain point), before it reaches the frame. With it, you essentially have the frame (an extension of) protecting the bumper. The bull bar bypasses the bumper, and transmits the impact directly to your frame.

A buddy of mine had one of these years ago on his Isuzu Rodeo, and got into a fender bender, and ended up tweaking his frame. Outwardly, the visible damage was minimal. You could see the bull bar got pushed closer to the bumper, but otherwise, if he hadn't pointed it out, I might not have even noticed it. So it saved his bumper, but damaged his frame.

I think of these things like the bra everyone used to put on their cars to "protect" the front end. In reality, all they really did was cause more damage to the paint than if there weren't anything on there at all.

Nope, and I'd toss that grill off as well.

Family bought this for me so I could mount some lights I already had. To get it where I liked it I ended up cutting and welding the brackets. Otherwise it just stuck out to far and too low. Moving onto whole other bumper hopefully in a couple of months

Wish someone give me something that forces me into getting a plate bumper.
