How about 30 mph to 90mph, like a rolling start drag race?

    This.

And in regards to it not being a "real truck"...I don't use my Tacoma as a "real truck". I like to haul stuff in the bed randomly throughout the year, but that's about it.

It really is just about use case. I don't know why it's so hard for some people to figure out their own needs when buying a vehicle.

If you're comparing 0-60 specs on a truck and actually using this as a factor on which vehicle to buy, you probably shouldn't be buying a truck. I think the Toyota guys are getting all up in arms about the Ridgeline because they are jealous that the Honda isn't plagued with body lean, squeaks and rattles, transmission issues and low fluid form the factory, etc. Now with that said, I agree with others that the vehicle isn't the most attractive and the Tacoma wins hands down for looks. Also the Tacoma is better suited for hard, abusive off-road performance (but dealing with all that gear hunting on the freeway drive out to your remote destination could be a bit annoying), where the Ridgeline is not. But if you're the type who just loves the "idea" of owning a truck, but in reality only uses it as a "truck" occasionally, tows stuff, can take advantage of the open bed but doesn't need the off-road capability then the Ridgeline isn't a bad choice at all. I considered one, but would have had to put a camper shell/topper on it, and in that case may as well just get a mini van. So instead of getting another truck i just went with a wagon. Major compromise in some areas, and advantages in other areas. Give and take. Obviously not for 99% of the people here since they want a truck. But I'd also say that most who have a truck (excluding those who use the truck for work or those who actually do some real off-roading) the Ridgeline is more than enough vehicle. It has more back seat leg room for hauling little timmy and friends to t-ball practice, holds enough for those Costco runs where you need to load up on all that non-essential crap for your oversized family, and can even function as a killer tailgate vehicle for that once a year escape the parents get from the kids for that awesome Michael Bolton, Foreigner or Doobie Brothers concert that they've been dying to go to.

    SBpark, well put!

I just got some shit from a Ridgeline owner at work (I work for the Ridgeline manufacturer) asking where's my Honda pride. Tried to give me two lame reasons why I should have a Ridgeline instead.

First was, "Hey, you have a tonneau cover over that short bed. Isn't that just like the Ridgeline's little hideaway trunk, but bigger?".... I just laughed at him and thought to my self, what an idiot one sided fanboy comment.

Second was, "Hey, what's so great about your truck that a Ridgeline can't do?".
I told him I don't want a unibodied lifted car with an extra tall cab, and there's not enough of the cool stuff to mod and play with like the body on frame Tacos do. The Tacos are work trucks or toys. In my case, it's a daily driven toy.

I had to play it nice and be PC. LOL.... Had a couple of the Honda corporate executive types behind me waiting in line to pay for lunch. The fanboy was loud enough to pique their attention behind me.

I really wanted to tell him to STFU and go pull his "man card" on someone else.

At least you don't drive a Subaru wagon like i do. I actually traded my '16 Tacoma for it. You can imagine (and witness on here) how much crap people give me. I could give a fuck. I can fit a 9'6 surfboard INSIDE the Outback, use half as much gas getting there than I did in the Tacoma, and love the torque vectoring when going around turns. Different strokes, right? I have no problem with people who love their Tacomas, I just have problems with the clowns who attack when someone has a legitimate problem that results in them being unhappy with the truck. My truck was a p.o.s. Are all '16 Tacomas junk? For sure they're not! Are there more than a handful that aren't happy with the driveline, transmission and other issues? Absolutely. They started out as a small bunch, but the list seems to be growing. For some it doesn't matter and they'll drive Tacomas until the day they die. Others have a different standard of quality and requirements. Who gives a shit, right? If you like what you're driving, then so be it.

I think what pissed me off more than anything, and mores that the actual issues I was having, was the way Toyota dealt with it, or decided to not deal with it actually. That put a very bad taste in my mouth. let's face it, shit goes wrong and you can't predict everything that will go wrong with a vehicle, especially a new model year/redesign/refresh, etc. But Toyota's unwillingness to acknowledge and fix the issues is what made me move on.

I kind of think it's funny that Honda people are giving you crap for driving a Toyota. I mean, seriously? Sure Hondas are reliable and all, but they are some of the most boring, souless, uninspiring vehicles out there. Vanilla comes to mind, and thats coming from a guy who now drives a Subaru wagon.

On a side note when I first got the Tacoma and posted on here that I went from a Subaru to a Tacoma, tons of members chimed in how great Subarus were and how reliable they were from the members who had owned them in the past. Fast forward to posting the shitty experiences I had with the Tacoma with several trips to a couple different dealerships and no help from Toyota Corporate and that I got rid of the Tacoma and went back to Subaru, and people started slinging insults and slurs, questioning my man card, sexuality, etc. Was kind of funny. Shows how idiotic and fanatical some people can be about a goddamn truck.

98% of the time I agree with you and have enjoyed reading your posts. I have also owned 4 Subaru wagons from 1982 DL to my last 2001 Outback.

    I traded a 2016 WRX with 850 miles for my 2016 Tacoma.

That said, having owned many subarus, toyotas (including MR2 and Supra, many Lexus products), and Hondas (S2000 and wagovans and accords), I would disagree. Toyota products (in general) are much more soul less than Honda Products.

Accords/Civics are much more fun to drive than camrys/corolla/avalons. Odyssey drives much better than Siennas. S2000 was much better than the last MR2 Spyder.

If this was the early 90s, I would say Toyota had some fantastic offerings. But these days, aside from the FRS/86, Honda products are better driver appliances. I mean no one will mistake a Honda/toyota for a M4, but it is all perspective.

If we are going to generalize, I would say quality Toyota > Honda. Fun to drive/well engineered Honda > Toyota
