Fairly new member here looking to upgrade my suspension. A lot of info on this site but looking to simplify some things.

Current model: 2013 access cab 4 x 4, 2.7 liter, stock 16" wheel and tires, 45,000 miles, no packages whatsoever (plastic bumpers), no lift or any serious mods.

I'm going to be upgrading from stock 245/75/16 tires to 265/75/16 DuraTrac's. I figure no better time than now to get the lift I've been wanting. I was hoping some people could help me out maybe post some pictures of their similar builds. I'm just looking for something simple, not too costly, and something that won't hurt performance.

My goal is to lift the truck slightly (maybe 1.5" tops) while keeping the factory rake, if not increasing it a little bit.

After a ton of research, I am lost. I was looking into 5100's in the front (or all around?) with AAL in back? Also 884's in the front with maybe nothing in the back? I don't off road or anything I just want a small lift to help me out with deep snow and to make the truck look better.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

hey man, 265/75/16 duratracs here, load c. I do have 1.25" wheel spacers on here to bump them out a bit.

2" lift should be billy 5100 and 884 springs, or billys, raised up to 1.75" with stock coils. single AAL in rear, or 3 leaf progressive AAL in rear. would want new billy rear shocks as well. I am around 3" front, and 3.5" rear I think

Send Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road a mssg, she will guide you down the right path

Jimbo, thanks or the info. Your truck looks great.

I don't think I want to go that high though. Really looking for for 1" to 1.5"... If 1.5" isn't an option then I'd like to stick with 1".

Do I need both 5100's and 884's in the front?

5100's set at 0.85 in the front with a single AAL in the back give me what I'm looking for?

Thanks Man. you can do the billy 5100 up front, set at .85 I think it is, on stock coils, should get you .85 or so, or set at 1.75 should get you 1.75 or so up front on stock coils. you dont need the 884 coils if you use stock coils, but you will preload the stock coils a bit, and may be a bit stiffer than it is now. the 884's are just a longer coil, so you would use them with 5100 set at zero. single AAL should get you 2 in the back +/-, would want the rear 5100 shocks as well I think also. hope this helps, let em know if any more Q's

Just clarifying: running 5100's in the front set at 0 doesn't lift the truck at all. But the addition of 884 coils would?

Can I just skip the 5100's and do only the 884's instead? How much of a lift are we talking in the front with only 884's in the front?

    Thanks again

you can do 2 different setups on 5100's. you can use them with stock coils and raise the bottom clip, to gain lift. OR you can run them at bottom setting and use a lifting coil, like 884. I dont think you can put new coils (884s) on stock shocks to gain lift, likely an incompatibility there. I think 884s are a 2" lift coil. headstrong offroad has a good info chart on the coils on their website. keep in mind I think these lift heights are based on a 4x4 V6, so, being 4 cylinder (less weight) you may gain a tad more out of the coils.

Ive been through 885's, then 887s, and now 886s, through my progression of lift and added weight.

Any downside to using only the 5100's on stock coils? Say if I went with 5100's in the front at 0.85, and a 1 inch AAL in the back?

The only downside to 5100 with stock coils at .85, is additional preload on the coil. which may result in a stiffer ride. should be fine at .85, and even 1.75, the 2.5 is where it can get stiff. I am sure more will chime in, a lot of people do this.

You have a good grasp of where you want to go. You are also quite reasonable with your lift amount and doing well to keep a rake.

Take the advice to call Marie, and let them help.
