Other uses for flush mount LED pods

After changing from the stock bumper, which I had cut out to mount flush pods, to a tube bumper which ended up with me using zip ties as a short term way to mount pods that wouldn't really fit the bumper geometry.

Now I've bought some small compact single row bars which will mount nicely and fit between the tubes for rear lighting.

Thing now is that I have these two flush mount pods and no real idea what to do with them. Seems like a waste to just shelf them so I'm looking for ideas of where else they could work on the truck. Could they work as rock lights maybe? I'm not thrilled at the thought of putting them into the wheel wells since they have a pretty sizeable exposed lens/cover area that'd be just asking to get shattered by whatever my tires can find to kick up. I've already got good fogs in the front end as well as engine bay and cargo area lighting covered with other equipment.

I am considering the idea of building an expo/utility trailer to mount a RTT for camping, and would have any number of places they could be built into that arrangement if there's no good place for them on the truck.

 

You could slap them on the hood like I did and use them for daytime running lights. With an Amber cover or Orange laminate. With either ditch brackets, which I think can be had cheap and are fairly easy to install on 2nd gens. Or with a trunk lip antenna mount like I used.

 

I don't have mounting brackets for these to surface mount them, just the built in flanges for flush mounting. The bodies do have provisions for bracket mounting, I could probably fabricate something workable, but I'd rather get pods or small bars built for that kind of mounting than try to cut off the flush-mount tabs and end up with something decent looking.

Ha my bad. Completely ignored the fact they were flush mounts I guess.. Well, yeah, not really anywhere to put em. Unless you put them in the front bumper. But that would require cutting big holes. I've even seen them put in a tailgate.

 

I've got factory fogs (upgraded with LED projector bulbs), a pair of 7" double-row 4D spots on the winch mount (US Offroad) and a 28" bar mounted in front of the grill (planned to put it on the winch mount, but it interfered with the winch).

About the only place I've got room to mount flush pods in the front would be on the sides facing out where they'd be pretty much useless. Maybe if I fab up some brackets I could put them up under the bed rails facing down for rear end underbody/rock light....
