I went to Dr Lowy at UCSD for my last treatment and will likely head back down there again...maybe participate in an immunotherapy trial this next time around.

I have had surgery at all of the Reno hospitals now (Renown, St Mary's, and NNMC) and Renown is the best IMO...unfortunately my cancer is very rare so doctors up here don't know what to do with me.

Ask her if she's heard of pseudomyxoma peritonei and HIPEC treatment. If she has and wants to chat PM me and I'll send my number.

I had cancer at 18 and beat its ass. Stay strong. Wake up every morning and say fuck cancer. Attitude plays a big role in the battle. Cancer is weaker than you, remember that.

My surgery in Oct 2014 was pretty involved. Took 11 hours. They removed a portion of my large intestine and a portion of my liver, along with my gallbladder, spleen, ileum, several lymph nodes, and all the visible cancer which involved scraping my stomach, bladder, and the lining of my abdomen (the peritonei). After surgery they filled my abdomen with heated chemotherapy solution and let it marinate for 90 minutes. Had I done this the first time around back in 2012 I don't believe I would have had the recurrences. Every time they open me up scar tissue forms and the cancer seems to recur at the scar sites.

Here's more info on the cancer for those that are interested: http://www.pseudomyxomasurvivor.org/pmp-information/

Looking forward to seeing what Eric can do for a winch tray...the setup they have on their runner is sweet and I'm sure whatever he's able to fab up for the taco will be awesome too.

Sounds like you've been through the wringer on this journey of yours. Like others, I wish you the best in kicking this thing right straight in the ass.

That jerryberry guy is great at drinking any beer and he's definitely legend with the build stuff too. What better combination?

    Kick some ass.

Is there a friend of a friend who could find you cannabis oil? I don't suggest smoking weed, but cannabis oil does have a proven track record of curing some forms of cancer.

I went through 2 rounds of cancer. 1st in '09, and again, starting about a year ago. I had surgery in May, and will know following a CT scan/pet scan/MRI in December if it's still with me or if I get my life back.... I decided this time to not let it slow me down any more than I have to. Just keep on doing what you love to do. After 8 months of treatments, 3 surgeries, and a lot of rough days, I can honestly say I FINALLY feel better than I have in years. Gonna assume that is a good thing. I hope and pray you have the same outcome. Hang in there. Enjoy life to the fullest extent you can. I expect to see you do the things you want to your truck and post the results here years down the line!

I tried CBD oil to deal with nausea...didn't help me but cannifudge has helped with the nausea and pain. Unfortunately because our government has their head up their ass when it comes to medicinal marijuana I decided not to get my card.

Didn't want to dig into potential sensitive personal issues when you mentioned an upcoming MRI yesterday, really sorry to hear about the cancer. I've had family members effected by cancer, it can be very draining on everyone. We wish strength for you and your family and know that we're here rooting for you Zack! Looking forward to helping get your truck built up for you too!

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
This E/NE of 7 Troughs, near Antelope Summit on the Applegate Trail?

I've eaten much dust on that playa, though it looks to be on the damp side in your pic.

Reminds me of the "micro-playa" up near Black Rock itself.
Ah yes, that's how I remember it! :)

Cancer is a PITA. I've had lots of friends survive all sorts of random cancers - one a life-long smoker who had a good chunk of a lung removed a couple of years ago. Until now, I'd never even heard of appendix cancer. Give it hell!

Someone knows the Playa. That first pic is actually east of Reno. I head out there fairly often for target shooting.

That was in June so things were still a bit soft...had to be careful crossing the playa so we didn't get stuck. The camping spot was the micro playa behind Black Rock. When we were out there some dude flew in in his Cessna, landed on the lake bed, and set up camp. Pretty cool.
