    question i am planning my next trip to moab and seen few people on trails with hi lift jacks, but most of the rigs were decked out with custom bumpers etc, my question is does hi lift jack do anything for stock bumper set tacoma? dont think u can lift sides of the rig with it ether, anyone have any pointers how to use it on 2016 trd offroad or stick with factory provided one?

    only way i can see you using a high lift on a stock taco would be in the hitch receiver and I still wouldn't do it

    They do make straps though for your tires if you want to go that route

    i am assuming this would be used to get tire out of sticky situation or off rock so that u can put stuff under, but tire replacement in the field more likely use the stock lift

    Yeah. You would use it to lift that tore up to be able to put something underneath it.

    But to change the tire. No. You'd need sliders for those. And having the stock jack for swapping a spare can be interesting. Make sure you bring some blocks of wood to help hit the truck in a low spot.

    if you're going to use a hi lift to change a tire I'm sure many would agree with me when changing put something, anything, another tire, an axle stand (if you have one) anything possible under the vehicle so if it falls you dont get crushed or the truck falls with no wheel and gets damaged in the one hub with no tire on it.

    Hi lifts can be extremely unstable once off the ground. Really recommend you use the hilift add on base as well.

    x2 I've had to do this a couple times. Not ideal but it works.

    so if i understood correclty, if u do end up in bad situation lets say tire jumped off rim, or got cut, hijack is useless unless u have sliders that can handle weight of truck and obvous reasons use hijack base, but other than that most people use it to lift via tire off stuck rock, or use it as poorman winch setup, is that the jist of it?
