Bump to keep this thread alive.
Is there any chance that OP is still around or a moderator can change the title to Michigan Meet-ups in hopes that anytime two or more Tacoma owners are planning to get together they can talk about it here and encourage others to join in or do the same. From dinner and a beer to mud pits and low gear. Let's all get together and post about it here.

^^^ Well said, I concur. OP was last seen this morning, so maybe @Yoda's TRD will change the title?

This Saturday the 24 I will be heading to Grayling area to merge with another group for a fall color trail ride. One other member from here will be camping Friday there with the group.
I'll be trying to find them Saturday morning.
A few more details will be available tomorrow but I wanted to give as much notice as posable.
I'm not leading this one but in my experience Stock 4x4 will keep up fine and most of the routs/trails are wide and well maintained.
The color is just beginning to pop and had been for about a week.
    Anyone else interested?

    Registration

We are trying to get everyone registered at one of the two times listed below. If you join us for any of the Friday rides before your able to register then you will need to sign a waiver before the ride.

Anyone who is only camping Saturday night will need to complete their camping registration at the campground after Saturday's ride.

Shirts & Stickers will only be available at the campground on Friday Night or 612 on Saturday AM. If for some reason you don't get your shirts or sticker at these times then see one of us at the Saturday camp fire.

    Registration Times
Friday 4PM-8PM - River Park Campground
Saturday 8AM-10AM - Corner of 612 & Hartwick Pines Road

    Rides
Rides are listed below with their start time, start location, difficulty, ride length, and ride leader. The time listed is the time the ride departs. Please be there 15 minutes early.

612 - Corner of 612 and Hartwick Pines Road
River Park - River Park Campgrounds
4 Mile - Gas Station east of 4 Mile & Military Road

    Friday
Easy rides will be fun trail rides with no major obstacles. There will be some hill climbs and obstacles but nothing major.

Medium Rides will be trail rides with more focus/time spent on hill climbs and smaller obstacles.

Medium/Hard rides will be focused on more difficult terrain but will have bypasses.

    12 PM - 612 - Easy - 2 Hours - KV
    3 PM - 612 - Medium - 3 Hours - DM
    7 PM - 612 - Easy - 1.5 Hours - KV
    8 PM - 4 Mile - Medium/Hard - 3 - RG
    8:30 PM - 612 - Medium - 1.5 Hours - RV

    Saturday
The two main Saturday rides are listed below. The two rides will converge for lunch. The 9AM ride is similar to the fun trail ride we have done in years past. The 10AM ride will skip some of the scenic routes, drive faster through the rest of the route, and spend more time on the hill climb and play areas

    9 AM - 612 - Easy - 5 Hours - KV - BRING LUNCH
    10 AM - 612 - Medium - 4 Hours - RV - BRING LUNCH

    3 PM - 612 - Scavenger Hunt

Depending on weather, trail leader energy, etc we will probably do some Saturday night rides that leave from the campground.

    Sunday
    10 AM - 4 Mile - Medium/Hard - 5 - RG
    10 AM - 612 - Medium - 3 - DM

I'm having second thoughts on going to this event. I'm thinking the wife and I will end up heading to st. Helens scramble area and from there take trail 6 East all the way to Tawas or Oscoda .
We bring a grill and cooler and have lunch trailside along the way. We have done this rout before and liked it.
Lots of hills and colorful trees.
We'll likely be at St. Helen's at 10AM and ride till 6ish
Feel free to chime in if you would like to join us this Saturday

Have fun man, I'm going to continue to this event. We have a family owned cabin in the area and a buddy is leading a trail ride. Enjoy the weather!

Had a great day on the trail Saturday.
    Going again this Saturday.
This was from St. Helen scramble area Northeast via trail 6
Thinking Cadillac / Mesick area this time but we are flexible.
It was still pretty green but not for long. Who is up for cruising the forest?

Going out again this Saturday the 15th
Anyone with a stock 4x4 can handle the trails. It's about getting out to look at the fall colors while following the manuals instructions to exercise the four wheel drive.. light off roading and heavy story telling.
The colors will be near peek next week and hunting season is almost here.

This Saturday the 22nd looks to be another great time to be two tracking through the forest.
Sounds like two other Tacoma's are wanting to go.
The suggested meeting point is Cops and Doughnuts in Clare but that can be moved by popular vote if need be.
I will present two good trail options. One is off 55 in Cadillac, trail 37 and the other begins in Leota and goes through St, Helen's scramble area ending in South Branch.
Stock 4x4 will have no trouble with the rout unless you look for it. New paint won't get scratched unless you want it to.
I bring a small grill (big enough to share) and big cooler and stop along the ride for a meal.
This IS going to be peak weekend! Today is windy and stripping the colored trees of their leaves as the majority are just turning and holding.
You will see everything from bare trees to full color with a thick layer covering the entire forest floor.
Come join in and tell your 4X4 friends no matter the brand.

I hate being on straight midnights and having to work weekends...
Sounds like a fun trip. Have fun!
