Hey guys I know this has been asked over and over but any ideas on which off-road bumper to go with recently got into a little fender bender and decided it was time to upgrade

Curious, did that bull bar do more harm then good in your collision?

We call those damage multipliers. They are no bull bar, that's for sure. If you notice how they mount to the truck, at the bottom under the bumper is the only support. They get bumped and they pivot off of that bottom mounting bracket and go square into grill and radiator, etc.

What type of bumper are you wanting? Plate or tube?

Lots of options. My favorites are relentless and all pro for plate. Have a look in that gallery a few post up^^^. I have another bumper thread I'll post up too, just need to find it....

Plate bumpers, the tried and true ARB is an awesome bumper. With an optional winch mount as well.

After looking at Relentless, All Pro, Demello and Shrockworks, I ended up with a Shrockworks bumper. I had them add the support bars on their single hoop bumper.

With Relentless there was just something about the angle/height of the single hoop with support bars on their bumper that I didn't like. The All Pro wouldn't work with my skid plate and Demello would've been a custom build. They don't have the 1st gen bumpers in production (so it would've costed about twice the going rate), although there's a guy trying to get more interest in them (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/demello-offroad-front-bumper-interest-thread.451222/).

My first choice was actually Demello. I just couldn't justify paying twice as much as a "production" bumper. In the end, I'm very happy with my bumper. Good luck with your search!

Id highly recommend chassis unlimited. I have only seen a few tacomas with their design, but I personally love mine. Got it for a great price too! And, unlike trail gear, it's a hybrid plate/tube design. 10% off with code "Facebook". Happy hunting.
