^ This. When a shop made me take the tinting off the wife's minivan a couple years back, they said they were cracking down on shops that would pass tinting without checking.

Back in the day, my girlfriend's dad helped me get a car past inspections, that thing was missing a muffler and we just added a long tailpipe instead. Shop looked the other way. Unfortunately, I have no idea where that was 'cause 17-year-old me didn't pay attention to such things. :)

I am by no means a certified mechanic but i put my coilovers, UCAs, leaf packs, and shocks in with the help of a buddy of mine. I'm willing to lend a helping hand if you need it

That would be awesome man... I just want to take off the stock strut (bilstein, coil, and spacer) and install the new strut which is already assembled (bilstein 5100, OME 887). It doesn't sound like its too hard but i definitely haven't done it before..

I can help too. Let us know a time and date. If someone can provide a car lift that helps a ton but is not nesasarry. I may have access to one but it us all the way in Logan.

Id like to do the same to mine. If you want to get the kits and do it together it could be fun.

I've heard this before but am skeptical. Do they just do standard repair work or can they do some real offroad/overland "build" stuff?

You have every right to be skeptical about auto shops cause most of them deserve it. I probably won't convince you (nor do I need to.... nothing in it for me) but here's what I know:

Cruiser Outfitters (a top local Land Cruiser shop) stopped doing installs a few years back and sends all those crazy-expensive rigs over to State now, doing some very gnarly and high-end builds. Plus I've seen them fix a huge range of stuff for friends and coworkers over the years on all sorts of cars, from a pristine '56 Vette to my Tacos and everything in between. They're trustworthy and very capable.

Well I do need a place to get my extended brake lines installed after my Icon setup so maybe I'll give them a shot.

    Stuff. Also things.
Just a thought, but you may want to consider doing your extended brake lines first, then your lift. Better to run lines that are too long for a bit (assuming they clear everything) than lines that are too short after to your lift, IMHO.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been looking for a shop that I can trust and who is consistent with quality of work and meets my OCD expectations. It is very difficult finding someone you can trust and just about every experience I've had with shops have been negative.

Probably true but the full Icon setup is already installed. It won't see any off-road time until lines are installed. I've even had it on the lift at work and even at full droop there's still a little room to wiggle but definitely will need them on soon...they shipped today from All-pro.
