Does the 4 speed work with the 4.10s or is that nothing to be worrying about?

i have 5speed 4.56 and it kinda over kill right now. cause i have 29" tire. i just bought new wheels to be 31"so ill be good but have to paint them and get tires. so i wouldn't have any 31" info for a month or so. i tow trailer, and have a lot of weight in truck daily (500lbs) . how ever if you go to the tire calculator link it shows you tire and gear .then rpm. well its not that accurate . cause it says at 65 with 29" tire and 456 gears i will be running at 3440 rpm its really running 3060rpm. i checked. i figured about 300ish off . so that might mean you can go higher gearing. if you were depending on that info as a choice maker. at 3500 I'm doing 80 witch is high before gear change it was 2800. hopefully with the new tire size ill be in the 2700-2800 range at 65 . cause it does suck losing your highway rpm and gas mpg's. as long as I'm not doing over 60 its awesome . peppy , no drag with trailer. but if i go on highway it revs. I bought from ecgs pretty simple install just have to seal the new one with silicone glue. and its kinda heavy. for one guy. to hold with one hand and tighten bolts with other it took a couple hrs. it was a complete 3rd member.

Does the 4x4 rear diff 4.10 gear set fit in the 5 lug 3.58 auto housing? I've got gy wrangler 31's with the same rear as the op. I'm in the flats so no big hills to conquer, but curious as to how it effects Mpg's. My current set up gets maybe 300 miles before the light comes on fuel gauge. Stock, it got 400 miles. I tow a trailer with 48" mower often and would consider a diff gear swap if it was benificial, otherwise has plenty of power empty and not towing with the 3.58.

I want to know how some people hear did the 4.10s and what parts they used exactly.

Update. If your still using info. 31" tire . I did get my highway rpm back at 65mph running 2700rpm, 3000rpm running 73mph. wahoo. Don't use 5th gear as much In town driving. And it's still peppy just a little less. Gained about 4mpg on daily commute. Now 20 was 16. Before tires, gear change was 30. (Thats in 5th at 60 with cruise on). So ya I'm stoked.
