Mike. Where do you mount your ham? I can't figure out a great spot. Have a couple options but none are as clean as Id like.

 

Yeah it is lol. Going to call Tepui and tell them what's up and see what they recommend for preserving it

 

The faceplate is on top of the dash, above the center vents. The transmitter is mounted on the center hump between the center console and the rear bench. The fridge platform over-hangs there so it is under that over-hang.

 

Took the dog out for a solid hike today. Been really wet here and snuck out after the rain paused. Taking pictures again makes me realize i need to take the camera out more...

Can you download maps for offline use and put them on an SD card? So far im seeing it isn't possible and BCN only looks in one folder for the maps. Or am i missing something?

Yea just change where it looks for data in settings. I've got a 32 GB in mine I think and it's full

 

I feel the only real advantage bcn offers is to read .gpx files. Otherwise, the osm maps in aprsdroid have been a better choice for me. And a helluva lot easier to use.

 

Wasn't quite that simple. But sorta like that. I have a 64gb card in. I doubt it'll last long.

I'm working on that next. I downloaded the full US osm. I curious if I need to download the osm aprs droid now or if my purchased one will read it? Bit confused on that..

Aprsdroid doesn't do satalite imagery either right? And yea no gpx tracks. Or dropping way points. Or recording your own tracks.

I found detailed information at aprsdroid.net. go to the builds section to get the build that can work with osm maps. FWIW, I use the individual state maps rather than the US map.
