I've had elk in the back of my DCSB on multiple occasions. Sure the legs/antlers stick out, but they fit whole!

Hiked some elevation today looking for dusky and franklins grouse. Started at the trailhead at 6,131ft, hiked up to 7,195. Total trip was 6 hours and I covered a little over 8 miles. Dog did 24 miles, lol.

Found and bagged one grouse. Really windy, even in timber. 40 degrees in the a.m. too.

You can see my taco about 350 feet below at the trailhead.

Good for you. I went back to the sunflower field for dove today but a recent storm pushed all the local birds south and the northern birds haven't come down yet. The only time I've ever come back from the dove fields empty handed. Strange weather so far this year.

You don't look nearly as old and grumpy as I'd imagine, but then again you look like some sort of leaf covered ninja.

Your elk are a lot smaller than ours! You didn't bend your tailgate?
