Hello, TacomaWorld! Not a Tacoma owner...Yet! But I've been searching high and low for the perfect truck for me. I've narrowed it down to three Used Tacomas and I'm searching out for help, advice, and opinions.

    Welcome to the forum!

From what I know about local prices, that isn't too bad of a deal on that Pro model. The other ones, IMO, are "meh" due to the higher mileage and older model years.

Dollar for dollar I would go for the Pro if I were in the market for a used 2nd Gen.

Functionally, the Baja is an offroad + stickers. Pro is an offroad + some cosmetic differences and a slight lift. Your choice depends how much extra you're willing to pay for the cosmetics. They all have a locker. If you really care about performance/lift, you'll be replacing the suspension anyways.

I figured as much, seems like for the price and mileage, the Baja is a better deal than the off road. So it's more of a split between that and the pro. I don't care much about the cosmetics, so I'm not really eager to spend an extra few grand for the Pro.

This^^^^. The pro has the leather interior and fancy stitching on the seats but my thought process when buying was about the same and honestly, I prefer cloth seats to leather. For a similar price to the pro you can outfit a TRD OR how you see fit with a suspension that will be superior.

Yeah, I do plan on upgrading suspension once I'm back on my feet. These three truck just stood out for a great starting option. I'm leaning more towards the Baja because it's lower mileage and a bit cheaper asking price than the off road.

x2 on this. The pro gets my vote! It's mega clean and the lower mileage and two years newer is what would drive me towards it. It's also the last year of the second gen so I'd imagine it'll hold it's value better if you ever need to sell.

Not sure what the market is like down in San Diego but in the PNW, the taco is a REALLY popular vehicle so a lot of sellers aren't willing to budge too far on price. I looked for a while for a taco and I ended up with a '13 DCSB TRD OR and paid $29750 for it with 22000 miles.

It's pretty competitive, more so with private party trucks. But that TRD PRO has gone down a bit. although they say haggle free, I'm hoping I can bring the price down a little as well.

I have an appointment tomorrow morning to view the TRD Baja, trying to set one up to view the TRD Pro later in the day. Tomorrow may be an expensive day for me.
