Leafs have the assets to get trouba, wonder what it will cost. Hes pretty damn good. Biggest standout when I watched the Jets live other than Myers

 

For what the Jets will ask for him we don't want him. He's only valuable to the Leafs if they can get him without a first round pick or major prospect.

 

The price will definitely be high. Cheveldayoff does not take being bullied well. I would imagine this type of reaction would be even more pronounced with regards to a kid who has yet to earn his coveted ranking in the squad.

I fail to see how Trouba and his agent believe sitting out of hockey is in the kids best interest. What ever happened to humility? If he wants out he should be taking a bridge deal at market value(arbitration) , play his guts out and become the guy he claims he is. It's simple.

Macarthur was one of my favourite leafs when he was here. If he comes back healthy that Sieloff kid wont want to be around. When your hurt Marcarthur he goes ape shit on you. His two only NHL fights were after someone took a run at him

Was he offered a fair bridge deal? Sometimes teams offer RFAs nothing, especially at his age where in several years the Jets would still own him. I'd like to know what a young 3-4 Dman with, upside that could move him up the depth chart, is worth? There aren't a lot of comparisons to draw from given that Trouba has been held off the roster by the depth chart on his natural side. Trouba hadn't earned a spot yet and I think his assessment is correct that the Jets setup is not conducive to his development. That being said I'm surprised that his camp thinks this will create a trade.

 

Trouba is better the Byfuglien hands down. Anyone who watches the Jets especially live when you see how disastrous Buff is when he runs around.

I don't know what the parties have discussed. Neither side had been saying anything publicly to this point. Contrary to what his agent has said, Trouba has played on the right side mostly. Recently he had been tried on his backhand side. Trouba has unquestionably been a huge piece of the Jets plans moving forward. If he plays to his potential and works hard he will get all that he earns and potentially be the number one guy. Sadly it appears he is just another silver spooner who suffers from sense of entitlement. Ironically, things are much better him than he perceives. I believe his trade demands will only serve to provide him even greater challenges. Good luck Jacob.
