You were lucky. I went thru 4 of these Toyota TrueStart batteries in another Toyota I own. They all lasted < 2 yrs. The dealer replaced 3 of them. After the 4th, I threw in the towel and bought something else.

"Warranty" if it dies within 24mos Toyota supposed to cover it, anything above that you pay some bullshit reduced price. I know it will not make it to 84 months. The first one I had was 72mos, so I was 6mos shy of how long it's 'supposed' to last.. I do not have anything extra electrical minus third brake light for my shell.

yup just had my almost 3 yr old original batt die on me the other day.... replaced it with a Group 24F maxxlife battery from walmart. Figured they had a great warranty and nation wide store coverage. I would of liked a 27F battery to replace the original 27f but they dont sell them (as well as most other retailers) Aftermarket 24F battery had more CCA's and nearly the same reserve capacity as the original 27F.

I was glad i had my harbor freight jumper pack in my truck, Started the truck up when it wouldnt crank the morning the batt died on me. Totally worth the 40 bucks i spent on that!

Thursday morning I was on a TIGHT schedule...up long before dawn to catch up on some engineering work, load the truck with stuff for the morning's work activities, garbage to dump and a couple of hydraulic cylinders for the clam on the shovel dozer to collect. Plus I was headed out of town and needed groceries, cat litter and get the tires balanced. Not only would truck not start, truck would not JUMP nor take a charge. It would show full charge, put on a slight load and show six volts. Too weak to even load test and I have the stand mounted Snap-on load tester, electrical system tester.

So, I have to drive the Jeep Wrangler, on the morning duties and get a Silver rated group 27F from Advance Auto since they where handy. Installation took mere seconds with only a 10mm short socket. Got the tires balanced, trash dropped off, cylinders collected and installed and shovel dozer back running.

Battery was $135 with tax and deposit on top of that, original battery lasted 67 months and 84k miles.
