i am having a hard time deciding whether to get 265/70 or 285/70 for my truck. Recently installed the icon stage 3. It is my daily driver and I usually only wheel on the weekend. Any thoughts? I will be getting toyo open country mt either way with method nv race wheels. I don't want to do too much cutting in the wheel well, but would appreciate the look and clearance of the bigger wheel. Please help!

    33's!!! I chose 31's until I get a lift-damn waste of money now that I want a lift! 33's look much better.

I've got 31's on stock suspension and they look bad.

With a lift the 33's will look real nice.

    32" or 33"

    275 or 285 70

I had 275 AT3s and just put on 285 ST Maxx My 33s fit with minor triming "so far" but looks like I have plenty of room....
And the methods have the same width and off set as my Ultra X loc......

But ultimately you will want 33" at some point any way.........

But from 31s to 33 may eat more gas, but the maxx drive great and don't feel too big for a daily driver...

I've got a 3in lift with 295/75/16 BFG ko2s... Like most people said in this thread you'll be glad you went bigger than smaller.

Just the lift and offset from the wheels fit those bad boys on? Or did it require more modification?

With 33"s you will begin to notice a loss in power, due to the heavier tire and larger dia. You will need to either live with the reduced pep (like many do on TW) or regear from 3.73 to something like 4.10 ($1200-2000 depending on who's doing the work).

Yeah just the lift is all I did so far.. But I haven't had a chance to do the CMC yet or do some light trimming on the fender flares and plastics. I get some very light rubbing while turning when the suspension is flexing under normal driving conditions. So I know for sure I will be rubbing horribly if I do any time of off roading. So until I do the CMC and trim... No off roading for me lol

Maybe a little trimming but not much to clear the 33s and it will be worth it!

For what it's worth, my 33s just arrived at my doorstep and I'm in love. I'm glad I just went all in. I'll let you know how they ride when I put them on this Saturday.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Don't want to cut? Stick to stock size.

31's are what came stock on the Tacoma. You don't need a lift with 31's. Although to paraphrase Clint Eastwood "need has nothing to do with it."

That isn't true if you get a wider tire.
