No dice boys, came back last night after sludging threw the snow all afternoon. No calls come night fall. I've been neglecting my dog for hunting so we are going out to enjoy the nice weather. I can hunt Thursday night and all of Friday next week to finish the archery season. I don't have high hopes at this point.

I don't blame you man. I said f it too, stayed home to watch the game and hang with the dog. There's always next year. I got a deer so wasn't a total loss.

This is my second year hunting in my entire life. Having been able to get into, and close enough to shoot multiple elk is more than enough to satisfy me. I am pretty confident that I would have one in the freezer if I could find someone to call for me.

I am going to say I'll have one next year.

All good. I'm sure there are a few more on clearance now that the sale is over haha.

For sure, when I ran across the email I wasn't shopping for one but I thought I just share the information with the rest of you all. I didn't realize how thin it was on an actual sale

Alright, archery season ends Friday night for me. I have decided to give it my all this last time. Heading up Thursday night and hunting a few hours in the evening while getting to my campsite. Hopefully elk are in the area and talking. I'll be packing in just shy of 2 miles. From this point I should be able to hear elk well. I'll locate one and hunt it hard. I don't care if I am 4 miles from the truck. I have a list of numbers to call when and if I get one down. It's cold enough out that I can debone it, get the meat in the shade and it'll stay good for a few days.

Anyone interested in a bear hunt in New Mexico? Have some opening in the next week and a half.

That would be legit...don't think the wife would approve though. I'm curious on details for future reference though, if you don't mind shooting me a PM?

Finally…tomorrow is the day. Going to be grey all day with a light rain here. I'll be in a tree for sure! Hopefully the weather gets them moving.
