My sister's '08 Tacoma (TRD Sport 4.0L) decided to chew through its own rear diff the other day. Pulled the cap off and wouldn't you know it... Full of metal! Does anyone have any good contacts or know of a good place to find a replacement without having to go the dealer route?

I do not live close by so I am unable to do the junkyard searching for her either. The truck is located in 59715 (Bozeman, MT) if that helps.

Dang thank you! That is exactly what is needed! I don't suppose I could talk you into picking it up and getting it shipped if they wont? Or I am sure between those of us who live in Wyoming we could get it moseyed this-a-way.

Assuming the case is still good, I have a new TRD Kazuma LSD for 250 shipped. Then you just need gears and bearings.

The more I dig into this I am wondering if I don't just shoot for an entirely new axle... Seems like it would make for an easier install with less potential problems down the road?
