I have to check with a couple guys who are coming, but aren't on TW. They were talking about camping. As soon as I know, I'll pass along that info.

Ok cool. I believe the two 4runners I'll be bringing and myself will be camping.

TWO 4Runners? Cool! My son-in-law just got one.....He'll eventually start doing a few runs. Still has "ground effects" plastic trim around the rockers.....Not QUITE ready yet, but soon.

Actually I just checked with them and its looking like they're riding together rather than bringing both of the runners. '86 turbo'd 22re.

i'll be camping also, but I haven't looked into how reserving a site works... is there any backcountry camping like we did at LBL last march?

GREAT! IIRC, they do NOT allow back country camping. I'm sure a quick phone call to Harlan Campground would confirm that.

Primitive sites are available for reservation for $15/night up to 2 people, +$5 for each additional person I believe. The website doesn't explicitly say if it's $5 for additional persons or nights camping; I'm assuming it's persons/night. I'm planning on camping there.

Got the other lens for my new (to me) camera. Canon 75/300mm. It's a freekin telescope compared to the 50mm! Ordered a new charger, extra battery and a few other goodies. Hope to be fairly proficient by Harlan trip.

Good deal. It's always nice to have more cameras in the group. What time are you leaving town on the 21st?

We'll be leaving Mt Washington around 11AM. The wife works night shift that week and won't be home until 6AM. She wants a few minutes to pack, get a shower, and get everything ready. We also have to drop our dogs off at the kennel. Hoping to get there around 4 or 5 PM.

Ok cool. I'll have to check with my crew to see what their schedule is like. I'd rather go down Friday so Saturday isn't a 14 hour day in the truck after driving all night and morning to get there by 8am. Still planning on having a meet and greet Friday night?

That's the plan! Hoping we can all meet up at the camp ground around 6 or 7PM. We can hit the trails as early as everyone likes. I was concerned about a couple people getting there in time Saturday morning, but they will be coming down Friday and staying at motels. Should be there by 8AM. It stays dark later there down in between those big hills!

I'll put up a post a couple days prior with all the last minute plans. It'll go on several threads so no one will miss out.

No CB (yet) May be one by then, maybe not..... One from Bloomington Indiana. Another from Indiana but I don't know where for sure. The rest from Kentucky.

Up to six confirmed and a couple strong maybe's. Two 1st gens, a 4Runner (your guy) , three 2nd gens. Maybe an XJ and maybe an XTerra.

do you already have a site reserved?

does anyone have an swr? I have a midland handheld with a roof top whip that is supposed to be tunable... I haven't tried yet though (no swr)
