Gotcha. That was my main interest as far as what it might cover. I don't have a motorcycle YET.

So it'll cover medical stuff? I'm currently stuck with a worthless donation to Obama's "insurance" plan, so id be better off uninsured... If i was allowed to be.

Where's that thread about the bed rail stiffener things?

I was looking at mine, and the gap between bed and tailgate seem to be wider than i think they should. :/

Better to ask what I have not done.
We gave up on that as we could only get 10-15$ off and i can just build a set for about 40$ so it was not worth it for me to pursue it any further.

an umbrella is just that, it covers everything. so when your original policy ( or someone elses policy) reaches its limits, the umbrella will kick in, regardless of what needs to be paid. when i got rear ended on my bike, i know my laywer went after my own policies because we far exceeded the other vehicle owners policy. had to have back surgery and shoulder surgery, so first it was my uninsured/underinsured motorist policy and then it was my umbrella. basically the umbrella covers all your policies providing extra coverage if needed.

    question for LEO and Lawyers...

got a red light photo ticket recently. it was at 6th and kalamath heading into work.

thing is, i know it was yellow when i entered then turned red when i was passing through.

my understanding was, you can enter/be in the intersection when it's yellow and clear the intersection...

with these photo tickets and red light infractions, are they worth fighting? i think it's BS as i was in the intersection before it turned red, but I have no way to prove it.

do these tickets add any points? will it effect/be reported to insurance?

    thanks

You can ignore it. The photo tickets don't add points and they don't go to insurance.

They also are dropped if after x amount of time (30 days after you receive the violation, I believe) AND you do no get served in person by a police officer. They get enough revenue from people that willingly pay them that I doubt they serve anyone in person. If you do get served, they tack on extra fees.

Source: I know I had at least 3 photo radar tickets many years ago. I called the City of Denver office when I was getting a mortgage approved, to make sure they didn't go to collections or anything like that. The clerk told me the above information.

I'm neither, but I play one on the internet. :p

The actual CO law doesn't say anything about entering the intersection etc. (nor does the driver handbook). It's just interpreted to mean that, because the way it's written yellow is a 'warning of state change' not an actual 'state'.

42-4-604 (1)(b)(I) Vehicular traffic facing a steady circular yellow or yellow arrow signal is thereby warned that the related green movement is being terminated or that a red indication will be exhibited immediately thereafter.

As for the points and insurance, generally no, but apparently with exceptions. You were in Denver at the time, and they say no to both (photo speed violations are zero point): https://www.denvergov.org/content/d...raffic-enforcement/photo-radar-red-light.html
However Fort Collins' page says mostly the same thing... except if you're doing 25mph over the limit in which case it's a 6 point ticket, which they say is based on state law: http://www.fcgov.com/municipalcourt/camera.php

And if you want to read the details of the actual law for cameras, it's 42-4-110.5. Automated vehicle identification systems. Section 1.5 covers the whole 25mph thing, basically saying that this title doesn't apply to any offenses traveling more than that unless it meets specific criteria in 1.7. The more important part is 2b, which says the local municipality can't report you to the DMV (ie points) if it's issued by a camera.

Personal anecdote(s), I got flashed by the one on Monarch Pass a few years ago, and boy was I pissed because it was (is?) set up/located like a speed trap. I did some research into them at the time, and while I can't find the source now I recall seeing that the first offence was automatically forgiven. I never got mailed anything anyway. But I think that was more for that specific location or jurisdiction, and I don't think it necessarily applies to all municipalities. My roommate has been tagged a couple of times. She didn't pay the one from Boulder, but did pay the local one.

You'd have to decide if it's worth fighting or not. Yellow lights get thrown out all the time apparently. In fact there's a lot about how the timing of the camera and light cycle works and can increase accidents rather than reduce them depending on where the clear line is (ie your vehicle must be completely past that point before the light goes red, and it's usually farther in than the white line you can see). But you have to weigh the potential added costs, your time, how likely you might be to lose, and your principles. :D

Just saw the new 60v Dewalt stuff at HD. Miter saw, table saw, and some hand tools.

Oh boy, quickly looked them up and it looks like you can plug them in when batter power isn't needed.

Damnit, just when i thought i was good on tools for a minute.

Looks like I'll have a almost new table saw up for sale soon!

It is. The table saw and miter box are 120v (you need two of the batterys)

There stuff looks really cool and i like how it still interfaces with the 20v stuff
