i didn't realize how much of a speed deterrent the vibes were, with the new smoother ride, the wife got pulled over Saturday morning....69 in a 55 zone.....SMH

fortunately all she got was a verbal warning

 

You wouldn't happen to have a paracord instructions would you? I bought some a few months ago and it's just been sitting in my truck waiting for me to wrap the wheel. I tried once but couldn't get it tight enough and gave up

 

Wear gloves and pull, without gloves you will tear up your hands. There are several different patterns, check out Youtube, lots of info there

Check this video. I wrapped a few axes myself. It's pretty easy once you get started. You don't need gloves. If it's not working for you, let me know, I'll help you out.

 

I'll probably give it another try later this week now that it has cooled down a bit and sitting in my truck doesn't result in puddles of sweat

 

I just realized there was only 2 weeks until the Overland Expo. I think I'll hold off in the dual battery charge system for right now. @diverdale time to jump on the Solar setup.

I'll take a few pics of how I wrapped mine. It's very simple. Just takes some time and yes, it does kinda chew your hands up. I'll post some up later today when I'm done with work

 

I like the idea of solar but have no idea where I'd mount it between the Prinsu on the roof and the tool box/bed bar/rtt combo going in the back

 

On the prinsu, could keep it tied down when your driving ontop of your gear and then when you setup camp mount it so it catches sun. Mine will pretty much be flat on the roof or bed rails.

 

So if I do a Plano or pelican case I can just lay it on top of those. Plan is to have a case with recovery gear, a 4gal rotopax (or two 4 gal stacked depending on destination and such) and tred pros.

 

If your mounting a pelican case, 2x 4gal, or 4x 2gal, or 2x 2gal and 1x 4gal will level out with the top of the pelican case. I had that set up once. Now I'm not mounting the pelican case. Just rotopax now.

 

@David Loflin if you buy me a new pelican case I'll give you the one I have that already has drilled holes for a prinsu
