I'm looking to program a new key to my 2016 Tacoma. Just a key without the remote built in, it's the H code key. Anyone know how to do it?

Care to elaborate? Looking to do this myself, not pay anyone else to do it.

You can't self program the key, it has to be programmed by the dealer. Some of those mobile key guys may be able to program the H keys of there software so allows

There was a time that all chipped keys "couldn't" be programmed at home. There's always a back door way to do everything. I've done ford, Chrysler, and GM keys many times. There's a way to do these, just have to find it.

Chrysler and ford have self programming options. Toyota does not

2015 has a similar key that has the chip on it. It must be registered to the truck where as the old keys were the other way around. You can buy a tech stream software off Amazon and the cable to do it. You need a laptop and a 32 bit operating system I found worked best. In fact had trouble with win 10 and 7 but old vista did it great. I registered a G key on my 2015 and the chipped key cost me 12 buck on line from china. If you need more info PM me

H Chip keys seem to be a bit more expensive than your G key, Rob. $26 Cdn to door, out of Hong Kong. Seems to be cheapest I can find with a quick look. Still cheaper than what Toyota wants. You can buy me a beer while you program mine.:D
