Body lift if you are clocking the t-case. If not you'll be ok.

 

I know I have some more reading to do. Of the other threads posted in th OP. But if I plan on just running the inchworm or marlin crawler box with out doing the fj tcase will I need to clock it?

 

No. Regardless of which case or crawl box you do not need to clock it.

You will find that the only reason to clock the transfer case is to enable you to go full flat belly.
To do that you need to fabricate a custom crossmember for the transmission. I may do that one day but for now I still have the stock crossmember modified with an extension for the crawl box.

 

So yours hangs down a little bit? I can see that haven't really had a big impact on your wheeling from the pictures I've seen! Or has it??

 

The stock transmission crossmember comes down below the level of the frame on all the Tacomas.
It is a hangup point but this is a solution for it.
Personally, it's not that big of a deal for me

 

I clocked mine a little differently than alot here have done. I clocked my crawlbox and t-case, using the adaptor to the trans, so actually the t-case "clockable" adaptor is not clocked on mine at all. The rest of the driveline (engine/trans) is all in OEM mounts still, and with a BFH I got that belly flat, but ALOT of massaging was needed and had to give up the e-brake cables too. Barely kept the stock auto trans shifter cable cable exit location...

Or try and upholstery shop. That's what I did for mine and they enjoyed the challenge of it

 

SO ramping up my research on this crawlbox deal.

Scratched the idea of using TG's adapters and building my own, seems to be alot of tech in the machining of these adapters (oil passages, etc.) so i'll go with a better name brand.

Marlin Crawler's site still says coming soon, heard rumors about an adapter redesign but idk. Same with FROR having rumors of making a crawlbox, but again, idk.

Looks like Inchworm is the likely choice, however with LowRange being a huge supplier of TG parts & owning Inchworm i'd like to double check some info.

Can Marlin's 4.7 Total Spline gears fit into the Inchworm reduction box (i.e. buy inchworm box, replace with Marlin gears) without issue? Primarily concerned with the spline engagement. Remember reading about having to use TG 4.7s because a spline coupler fitment issue, maybe?

 

If time is money then i'm way less into an atlas than you will be into what ever you end up doing

 

Marlin will take longer and some have waited more than 12 months to receive theirs after making payment.

Inchworm can have you a case is a week. You can upgrade to Marlin gears inside the case, but the same wait applies if Inchworm doesn't have them in stock.

FROR does have a functioning crawl box that's designed around planetary gears. I wheeled with Brian earlier this year and he had the prototype in his runner. I do not know when he plans on releasing it though. The low gearing options won't be there unless you go tripple cases as his reduction is limited to 2.4:1, or something like that.

Inchworm, Marlin, FROR, Atlas... Lots of options, so read up before taking the plunge.

 

Got mine installed last week. I did wait for well over a year, but I'm totally happy with the end result. I purchased mine through Wyatt at RST. I believe they are now cranking theses out. My wait had to do with the redesign. My be worth the call to Marlin or Wyatt.
