So, I ordered a FSR original large tent from Tim at FSR. It should be in on Thursday. Tim was very helpful and even sent a video of him opening the tent with one hand. The size large opens to 78" x 96". When closed it will sit right over my long box. I'm super excited to join all of you in the RTT world and I already have 3 trips planned!! I found FSR in the group buy on this site.

    Thanks all!FSR medium.jpg

Advance auto. There are like $2.00 a piece and the black door seal to cover edges on the clamp was another $2.00. 1 can of black paint and good to go. Spent lest that $15 on these things.

I like that exhaust clamp idea. I was never really happy with using the normal flat u bolt washers and bending them around the bar when tightening the nuts up.

It works pretty good. I know what you mean with bending those. I also had te problem of the rtt moving sideways during short trips. After we did the clamps with then rubber piece never had to adjusted or moved again

I just got longer bolts that way I didn't have to bend the metal piece

My bolts are plenty long enough but the tent didn't feel secure without torqueing it down to the point the flat washer bent.

That's what I want to upgrade to my current rack is literally a piece of shit. I can fit my finger in between the rack support and my bed. I shoved a lot of washers in there to help a little
