Yeah, it also depends on what you are looking for. I ordered a DCLB TRD Off-road Mag Grey with the premo tech package. None around the West Coast so dealers know this and will often not lower the price.

First post, (go gentle)... I am located on the central coast of California. I am looking at my first Tacoma. I am going to order...
    TRD OR
    Double cab, short bed, 4x4
    MT
Either magnetic gray, silver sky quicksand color
Tow package, mud guards and Floor liners (unless weather tech is better)
I am still deciding on the premium and tech package or not

I was going to email a bunch of dealerships for their best deals. Are there any dealerships in either central/northern or southern cal that you would recommend? Seeing that there are a ton in this state I thought I would start with ones folks here have had luck with.

A local dealership has a 2016 TRD OF, Doible Cab, SB, 4x4, Tow with floor liners, mudguards that they will let go for $34,000. It doesn't sound to me that they are willing to go down much.

Just my opinion, but don't be mass-emailing dealers for competitive pricing bids until you KNOW what you want.

You have better leverage if you are sure of what you want and say you will write the order with the best deal within two days. That immediacy of an order works in your favor.

The Tacoma's are hard to get a big discount in my area. There are a couple of dealers who still want MSRP (sticker price).
    They sell quickly

OEM all weather mats suck. If you can get it without, do it. Get weather tech or husky. The only oem mat that stays in place is the driver's side one. The passenger side has no hooks on the floor and slides every time someone gets in my truck. The back floor mat sorta stays in place, but gets pulled towards the door every time someone gets in or out.

Man I'm afraid to post what I paid here. Of course I had the luxury of using a factory voucher since a relative works at the plant here in SA. I got a 2017 TRD Off Road DC SB with a tow package and bed lights for a very reasonable price.

yea i feel like the OTD price can vary so much state to state due to taxes and such. makes it hard to really get a good idea.

It is good to have relatives who look out for you. That is the best deal I have seen since the new tacos came out. I am not mad at you. I wish I had a relative working at a Toyota plant.

No, ya have to include dealer fees. I've seen dealers talk big about selling stuff (not Tacos) at below Invoice only to then hit you with a crap-ton of dealer fees. Dealer fees can easily add hundreds or more to a deal.

Only leave out state-mandated stuff such as taxes, title, registration.

Easy enough for people to provide the OTD less state-mandated taxes and such. Only way to truly compare (per my prior post about dealer fees)

Here is what I've talked the dealership down to so far: $35,00 for a 2017 DCLB OR 4x4 quicksand, w/ tow, predator steps, floor mats, and nothing else. Lease offer with 36/mo/12K/money factor .00200. Driving off the lot/out the door with TT&L is $37,562. Thoughts?

Edit: I should have stated this is in Texas so the vehicles are coming from GST with a $1000 TMF. My goal is to get down $34500 with the predator steps which would be roughly $3000 off MSRP from what toyota.com states. It seems that financing and buying out of state I could get another 1k off but that is not an option right now fwiw.

You may be able to do a bit better but then again a good deal really depends on the market you are in

Those numbers are without putting anything down, but I don't think that's the answer to your question. Can you explain?
