im currently sitting on the side of the road broke down. Here's how it went...I was pulling up to a stop sign going about 10mph and suddenly....crazy bucking and gear shifting ensue. The truck turned off, and the brakes went bye-bye. I was able to get it safely stopped before going through the stop sign. I'm getting a low oil pressure and high auto trans fluid message. Tow truck is on the way. What do you guys think? By the way, my two year old was in the back seat. Kinda scary

Can you provide more details about the history of your truck? What was the temperature? Miles? Were you towing?

I think the dealer owes you a loaner and a repair.

Yours is not the first issue of this nature, and won't be the last.

I'll guess CPS, and you'll want to ask about trans fluid level and TSB reflash too.

Right or wrong, hopefully they'll resolve it for you quickly.

    Glad you are safe.

It wouldn't surprise me if it turns out to be yet another failed CSP sensor. They need to do a recall for that on these trucks.

Good luck with whatever it turns out to be
    Cheers!

When was it built? Like others have mentioned it is almost certainly the CPS...

That happened to someone I know, he was pissed!
So he opened the hood for the world to see a brand new Toyota was broken down on the side of the road. His way of getting even I guess.

I would expect something like that to happen to smitty, but oddly enough, I can't find a thread from him for that so I'm like, wtf??

There was a bad run of them apparently. They were redesigned in the later half of the model year. You definitely aren't the first to be stranded.

It may start again after a bit, but just wait for the tow that way they can't say it's not happening. That's what the fellow I know did, he just didn't want to take a chance on it not making it to the dealer or getting into an accident on account of it

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

Agreed, my wife just came to pick up the kid but I don't want to take an unnecessary risk. Any idea how long it will be at the dealership if it is in fact the sensor. Also, any suggestions for how I should handle talking to the service people?

I am interested in the "low oil pressure and high auto trans fluid" message part. Does these messages relate to a CPS failure? Could there have been a transmission malfunction? Has your transmission fluid been manually checked lately? How has the transmission been shifting? How about when the transmission is cold?
