Never been a fan of the gouged out bed that was an option, but whatever you've done makes it look spectacular!

You don't like the step sides?! I think they look trick, but I bought a truck for the bed space and to get less space just for steps dosent make sense to me... Same with 4 doors instead of a big bed.. Why oh why couldn't they make a 4door long bed for the 1st gen's

Yeah it has less space and its just not my style. I was surprised to find out my bed was about 5 feet but its big enough for my needs.

I need to load two - three dirt bikes and as much gear as we can fit in the back,

I shoulda got a full sized truck but man I love Toyota

I'm parked next to a double can now... The loss of bed space woulda been a major bummer and I hardly ever had three people in my truck

Is your bed 5' in length? My bed length is 6', width at the top of the rails is 49.5" and between the wheel wells is 40".
I do have a toll box which takes 22" away from the 6'. I am able to carry all I need.

As for the looks of the step side bed, it grew on me the more I looked at it on the lot. Hell, I didn't know Toyota made one until the sales guy brought it over. I wouldn't change it for the fleet side version.

Homie, give us some more pics. What a great looking truck. What wheels are you running? I love the look of them, look like first gen Tundra steelies. I've been looking for a while and can't track any down.
The way you explain how the stepsides grew on you is exactly what happened with me. I almost never see one out and about, actually can't even remember last time I saw one, besides here on the forum. Then I saw pics here the last month or so and I really started liking them. This is the first regular cab I've seen with that bed. And then also here on forum I notice TRD package with step side... Droooool. And now I see some pics with lifts and bumpers and mods.... They really look great.
There was a Craigslist ad of one with the matching camper shell for the stepside and it had all the mods, it looked reeeeaaaally good. Maybe it's the uniqueness of them? I dunno, but Mikey likey. I should've saved pics of that stepside in the Craigslist ad dammit.

Yeah the 01-04 have the best looking stock grilles IMO (except 3rd gen TRD Pro....). But there's a lot of people around me with similar trucks so I wanted to give mine a little personality

That looks great... Kit is kind of expensive, the grille craft one is like $65. What all did it come with?

01-04 is very nice, but I still like 96-97 best. I like the 98-00 also, but third place (and my truck year lol)
