I drive a 2009 white PreRunner double cab and i wanted to put 285's, so I bought the matte black 17 in. TRD wheels and then took it to my local shop to have them level the front 2.25in and then put on Pro Comp A/T sports lt285/70R17's. My truck finally got done on Friday and I drove it all weekend with no running at all and then today at around 12 I was driving on PCH and a stupid paint truck dropped a 5 gallon jug of paint all in the street, I cautiously changed lanes and drove around the puddle but then a brilliant older gentlemen decides to drive through the puddle of paint going 65 mph right next to me completely spraying the white paint all over the drivers side of my car. I pulled over and walked over to the side of my car which the windows, NEW MATTE BLACK rims, BRAND NEW Tire with less that 50 miles on them, and my matte black step completely soaked in white paint. I went to report the incident to to police but they told me that the guy wasn't at "fault" even though he sped through it, I had to fin the person who spilled the paint but all of the businesses in the area had no cameras facing the street. Keep in mind it was over 100 degrees outside and the paint had instantly dried. I took it to 3 different auto body/ detail shops and they all turned me down because it would take so long they wouldn't be able to finish it by their closing time. So on my way home I stopped at a do it yourself carwas and power washed the paint only on the body of my truck, no where else would come off. After that I went home and for 5 hrs sat in my driving rubbing paint spots off of my brand new rims, the body was fine but i gave up on the step. Please if anyone has the matte black TRD rims what is the best product that you have used to clean them, there is still tiny white dots that i want to get off. Just a heads up to anyone that is driving past paint in the road stay away because I would not want anybody to have this happen to them. Feel free to comment on how you got paint off of your vehicle or rims if you have ever gotten paint on your vehicle.IMG_4547.jpg IMG_4549.jpg IMG_4550.jpg P.S. I couldn't get any paint off of the tires

Try Easy-Off oven cleaner on the tires. Keep it off the rims.

Thank you, I'm not sure whether the shop can flip the tires so the paint is inward, but then they would have to re balance them. I think ill try easy-off, sounds cheaper

This is true. You could just tell people that it was a "custom" job and go with it.

I'm a little far away, but I have a five gallon bucket of white paint in my garage and access to an old farm truck. We could "customize" the other side.

You should still call the insurance. They might just say to replace the wheels, which should be well over your deductible.
