custom turbo setup !

Graduated from taco to fire breathing cummins. Question: Saw the EGT sensor downstream of the turbo? Why? Better temp reading compared to drive pressure upstream of the turbine. What turbo is this? I guess it would have to be a pretty small turbo to spool with an already anemic taco 6 cylinder? Having owned 4 different tacomas over the years, I know about that...

These compounded twins are Garrett water-cooled ball bearing GT3782R secondary over GT4202R primary. Tial 44mm. Steed manifold. Currently at 450 hp / 960 ft/lbs on tow tune. Max race at 710 hp / 1490 ft/lbs. That with stock CP3 fuel into BBi Stg1 injectors. (90 hp). Twins sized for towing and drivetrain longevity. I thought about a 4715 primary but that would have had me pushing 900 hp with these injectors and well over 1000 hp with serious fuel. My transmission is rated for 650 hp so the overall goal was for around 500 hp mainly for towing and DD etc. Must be careful going from a taco to a truck that will get sideways on dry pavement... that $h*t gets real addictive real fast. =)

 

Boosted until the engine went. Sold the kit. Swapped in an LS. Still has the truck.
