    Hey Herms,

Just the regular tires shops can get you what you need. I prefer Discount Tire... but any will do. I see you are from Guam... You planning on bringing your tires home on the plane or did you drive all the way up here haha.

Maybe we can get a twin cities tacoma meet going during your time here. You here for business or pleasure?

I'd be up for a meet some time - nice to get to know some people with similar hobbies, never know when someone will need a hand and it's a lot easier asking when you've met before ha.

I'd also love to bomb around some min maintenance roads in se MN !

Know of any good areas down there? I'm always looking for new areas to go - but I can't find much in that part of the state. The river valley is gorgeous, but mostly private/farm land.

Hey guys. The Midwest Overland Society is putting on a small and informal get together we're calling the Northwoods Rendezvous, a local overland expo thing. It's Sept 16-18 and will be hosted on some private and county land just north of Foothills State Forest. No costs whatsoever (no trail permits, no camping fees, no entry fee), come and go as you please, tons of space to set up camp as near or far from anyone as you want. We could even set up a tacoma area too so you don't have to interact with those infernal nissan or jeep people.

There's a schedule of events that entails night trail run Friday night, day trail runs on Saturday, obstacle course at which we'll supposedly have a teeter totter this year, classes on trail comms, recovery, first aid, hi-lift use, and maybe another couple I forgot about. Best of all there will be a cook off on Saturday evening and the winner by community vote will win an Engel cooler, so bring your A-game!

Last year we had about 20 trucks of every sort: tacomas, land rovers, land cruisers, nissans, and one guy brought up his FJ40 on the back of a deuce-and-a-half. If you're interested in coming sign up on the forum and show your interest in the planning thread. We hope to see at least 40 this year with guys coming from all over the midwest, North Dakota to Ohio, Minnesota to Missouri.

Post up your interest in attending here:

oh wow I am just stupid. i didnt actually read the spambot part, i typed in "Over...." because I skipped it and thought I just had to type it like those standard Captcha passwords. I registered on my phone. If this was SAW I'd be dead.

I don't actually have a truck (use to until I sold it for a car to save gas 4 years ago, but now I am ready to get a new truck) but planning on buying a tacoma this winter. Might still be interested in going up to meet some people and check out other peoples trucks and camping.

Yeah too bad, we had fun! I took on a bit of a challenge. Thankfully I was hooked up prior to going in so that expedited the recovery and I didn't get water in the cab.

Any wheeling events coming up around here? I finally have everything done that I needed to do to get my beast out on the trails.

No. But I might as well use it if I have some free time. I'm not wrenching on it anymore so it just sits.

Nope. Been eyeing it up though. Be interested to hear from those who've driven it. I'm curious about the level of difficulty. I'm looking for some routes that don't require a lift, lockers, etc.. But not looking for a plain dirt road either. Something in between.
