I get what you're saying... but this isn't a shower. The thread is titled "Onboard Pressurized Water System" not hot shower system. You could turn it into a hot water system without too much extra effort.

Your not crazy. I want mine to be hot water too. I put some good research into this idea and adding a heat exchanger or propane heater would add 100 to 300 to the overall cost of building this kit and would make it unreasonable for most people to consider. Install would become more advanced and price would more than double. As mentioned though, it wouldn't be too hard to adapt this kit to a hot water supply if you have the time and money to do it. I just wanted to keep the kit simple for those who dont need hot water.

Also its good to note that onboard shower systems like road shower and waterport whicu are more expensive, only use the sun to heat the water during the day. Just like those shower bags you hang from a tree. It's all solor heated. Nothing would prevent you from painting your water container black to absorb heat and let it sit in the sun all day to warm up. Same concept.

A heat exchanger would be very pricey, require a larger pump, and a lot more plumbing, and you have to run the engine to make it hot. If someone really wants hot water on demand, a small propane tankless heater can be added in line similar to an RV setup

    Neat stuff OP!
After researching the road shower I thought it was ridiculous to spend $300 on something that I could make myself.
I built myself a solar-heated PVC shower for $150 worth of parts from Home Depot and pressurized it with my ARB.
It worked very well but I can see the merits of having one that utilizes an electric pump.
Props for putting a package together to make it easier for TW members to make this happen.

Yup, this is sh*t hot and props to the clean setup. I plan on running this into my Jerry Cans off the back and then pickup a tankless heater for colder weather. In the summer this should heat up enough in the sun on the back of the truck especially if it is black plastic.

Really interested in this. Would either run black Jerry Cans or a front runner tank. Hope can get one before they are gone. Also question. Is it side specific? Would work better for me if it was on the right side instead of the left.

So I could leave your system permanently installed all the time for on demand cold water... and add this inline when I'm camping to have a hot shower? https://www.amazon.ca/Eccotemp-L5-Portable-Tankless-Outdoor/dp/B000TXOJQ4

I wouldn't recommend EccoTemp, as they are extremely sensitive to winds blowing out the pilot light. In addition, they are cumbersome and awkward, same for CAMPLUX and the larger sort.

In addition, they don't recommend utilizing at altitudes higher than 5500' MSL. Not sure of the liabilities, but that was the field testing height and then the legal disclaimer to not use higher.

Its not side specific, i always just used the larger side so the hose can be stored with the pumo. I can check if the pump fits in the smaller pocket for you. If you go that route you may need to extend the power wire a little bit to cross over the cab now

I don't have the inverter so that is of no concern. I don't think power would be an issue either as I'm gonna run dual batteries one in engine compartment and the other in my tool box

Perfect! You can definitely run passenger side then without issue. Installation would be identical

I have been looking through this for quite some time, since my better half has very specific camping criteria. The Coleman HWOD is a sweet setup, but does not allow you to cutoff the water without resetting the pilot and pump, not to mention it uses a built in pump. The Coleman also has proprietary water source requirements unless you cut the intake. The easiest setup I have found at reasonable (or at least somewhat) is the Mr. Heater BOSS XCW20 system. It is battery operated and can tap into the same Jerry Can or any source for that matter with a submersible pump. I will use yours all year round for rinsing and cleaning, but finding a tankless setup for use with a 12V pump in a small and compact portable setup is not easy without significant setup requirements. The tankless, pumpless setup on demand require at least 20psi to start up (not a big deal), however they are typically over 25lbs and require a wall or some sort of stand to mount onto so that their are adequate venting proportions. Not to mention, they are seem to tap into a garden hose setup where there are somewhat endless supplies of water. These systems with a strong enough pump will burn through 5 gallons in no time. In addition, they are require an additional diverter/recirculater if you want to be able to stop the flow of water for conservation purposes (Navy Shower Setup). This would add extra plumbing seems like a PITA.
