Just do what @MADSTEEZE did, hit MJT without sliders then get a set of sliders afterward to cover up the damage ;) :D

It definitely isn't needed for 95% of the trail.

Haha yeah I could always go that route and then use the damage as an excuse to buy sliders and a new bumper lol

    Hey,

I had no idea what to expect from MJT the first time we did it.

MJT can be done without lockers. I do recommend Sliders on long wheel base vehicles. I have done it in a 91 Pathfiner, many Jeep XJ's and my TJ and have never used the locker switch. I have also spotted and guided groups up there with 28" tires and even a lowered YJ once. He did use his skid plates but was determined to run it despite everyone trying to keep him from doing it.
Pick your lines wisely with travel and wheel placement in mind. Try to keep rear tires on ground at all times and wheel slip will be minimal.
    Have fun and be safe.

Yea I have seen some surprising things on that trail. Both good and bad.

In 2008 I was on a run with TTORA and a guy broke a tie rod on the last switch back sections with the bigger rocks. Nobody wanted to help the dude and everyone took off after. Me and the guy I was riding with (he was in a Lexus/Landcruiser) drove all the way to Bakersfield to get the part, tried to replace it on the trail at like 12am. We finally realized it wasnt gonna happen so we literally towed/dragged the truck up the hill. Didnt finish until like 4am.

Luckily it was a old mini Truck so it was light, but the wheels were going in pretty much opposite directions hah

I think I want to take a shot at this Tacoma world calendar. Figure I have an advantage with these cool RGB headlights. @eon_blue I may be looking for some camera services.

It would be cool for any of us Wheelers / OC guys to get in the calendar! Your truck is badass, you've got a great chance, but I too am entering so prepare for picture battle haha :duel:
