This is my toy. It still needs quite a bit or work to get it where I want it to be.

I'm not much older than you then. I guess it was more than a hobby and more like an obsession for me. I've learned a lot from having multiple vehicles. I'm usually the first one people talk to about their car issues.

My wife's badass 2013 Nissan Versa SV and my project 1996 1 owner T4R.

Let me tell you about this Versa because man is it awesome. Power windows, check, factory spoiler, double check, rattling everything, triple check. 0-60mph, yup it'll do that but I can't wait around all day to time it. "Massive" rotors up front and drums out back, just like a $44k Tacoma for reliability and massive stopping power. Entertainment you ask, got ya covered. With not 1, not 2, not even 3, 4 or 5 but 6 presets. Unfortunately only 3 radio stations come in no matter were you are. Drivetrain is unbelievable! 1.6 L of pure unadulterated displacement coupled by a transmission that has no gears. It just revs higher and gets louder but don't worry, you're not really going anywhere. It just gets louder and you still get 44mpg. This thing is a true racecar, no sound deadening anything to keep weight down. This is great for going fast and you feel like you're flying, especially since all you can hear is the road underneath you.

So there you have it, if you're on the fence about buying one of these beauties I hope I've convinced you.

Don't those go for under $10K new? I think that's what I've seen them advertised around here.

She paid almost $18k, not sure why. She bought it before we met.

My wife's car: 2015.5 Volvo S60 R-Design with a Polestar Tune. Had a 2006 S40 with the factory sport package - 5 cylinder turbo, 6 speed, AWD, sport suspension and strut braces, body kit and performance exhaust - never saw another one like it. My wife got rear-ended by a texting teenager while driving it and was pushed into the car in front of her. Totaled the S40, and the kid and other driver left in ambulances. My wife and 75 year old mom weren't even sore the next day, so getting her another Volvo was never a question - because safety! As for performance, it does 0-60 in about 4.8 seconds, is an absolute tank in the snow, and is the most comfortable car I've ever owned.

Well I guess since you married her, the Versa now also belongs to you. Keep making those awesome sliders and you can get her into a better car. I would have gotten a set of your sliders if shipping wasn't a deal killer. I just happen to come across a really good deal on Apex.

I'm about a year away from getting her in a 4Runner. We just had a son and now she hates her cars size.

one of my all time favorite cars was a 1984 Rabbit MK1 Convertible. had the 83/84 GTI setup with the short ratio gearbox and the 1.8L free revving CIS engine. only 90HP but tons of fun.
