So I bought a 2015 Entune, non-JBL, non-navigation head unit from a fellow TW member.

I bought a couple of harnesses before the install. 1 which I thought would take care of both the AM/FM antenna and Sirius antenna (but it only took care of the AM/FM antenna). Therein is the first problem, there's no jack to accept the satellite radio antenna. Is there an adaptor or harness to fix this?

Next is regarding the Bluetooth. The new Entune connects to my iPhone via Bluetooth and I can use the stock mic and can make and receive calls using the steering wheel controls no problem. The problem is with the Bluetooth when I try playing audio back to the Entune. I open Spotify, get a song playing and the phone connects to Entune, the song continues to play (not pause), but there's no sound. Album cover, Artist name, song title all that show up on the screen of the Entune, just no sound...

Finally, is the back up camera. I ordered a camera relocation harness from Camera Source and there's no input on the back of the radio that has a plug to receive it. There's an open female jack that I don't have a plug to, so I'm guessing that's where it should land, but it's not even close.

Also, not sure if the USB is connected and working.

Anyone who has done this, or anyone who has suggestions on where to start? Would certainly appreciate it.

LED interior lights. Steering wheel mod. New radio. Amp, speakers and sub woofer.
Sirius/XM is not part of the radio itself. It's an add on module that goes underneath the radio. Look at this picture. You will need both the module and the spider cable.

The module is there. It just looks like a different type of plug connection for the antenna.

New Entune looks like it has the sat radio module.

Here's where the problem lies.....[IMG] Trying to fit blue male into....[IMG]female gray. No way this will fit without some type of adaptor. Any suggestions?

DunkinDal You are the MAN! I have contacted about a dozen radio houses and no one was even close to knowing what they were, even with the pics!

I going through on on my 2012 and it's a major pain in the butt. I've got about $100 in harnesses and adaptors and from what I see I need about another $100 in harnesses and plugs... I'm about ready to post my 2015 HU for sale and say F this...

Architect,

Did you solve your connection issue from your existing shark fin antenna to the new 2015 entune? I'm doing this myself on my '12 with the stock radio with SiriusXM to the '15 Entune Audio plus. Got everything working as it should except the Sirius. Might have a real easy fix. Will update tomorrow evening when I get home.

I'd love to hear and easy fix....

This is all that I have been able to find thus far:

http://www.discountcarstereo.com/SFA12F.html I have not been able to find a shorter version, and can't say I'm ready to jump in for another $70 (with shipping), to "see" if this solves the problem - while leaving 12' of unneeded wire coiled up behind the radio.

This radio has become the money pit....

Did you get the back-up camera sorted out, or decide to just leave it on the rear view mirror? I think I need to dump another $40 (plus shipping) for this: https://camera-source.com/automotiv...014-16-tacoma-radio-camera-interface-kit.html that I have to splice into this: https://camera-source.com/2013-tacoma-mirror-to-radio-camera-conversion.html that I already dropped over $70 on.

My USB isn't plug and play either. I bought a generic USB that plugs into the new HU, but I haven't figured out how that is routed to the panel below the radio to look stock - cable looks way too short.... And what do I do with the old USB...

I was looking for a radio with 100% of the functionality as the stock (USB, Bluetooth, XM radio, steering wheel controls, etc.) with the added benefit of the touch screen. If I knew up front it was going to cost me over $700 (and still counting) and be this kind of PITA, I think I'd just gone with aftermarket.

I'm still not 100% convinced this will ever work, and I'm reaching the point of frustration :censored: and the wallet screaming winning over and me just saying leave the stock radio alone. :bananadead:

Sorry that I didn't take photos of the entire operation, but I was anxious to see if my idea would work...

Anyway, disassemble the 2012 radio by removing the faceplate, then remove the heatsink on the back bottom of the XM unit. Then remove all the screws holding the top half of the radio to the bottom (the satellite radio) annd seperate the two to get to the existing XM antenna connection. Remove the cover from the antenna jack and unplug the conector from the small metal XM unit. Now you're ready to take off the brown connector cover.

Once you get the antenna cable out of the old radio, you'll see the brown connector shown below:

[/IMG]

Pry up the tiny white clip with a razor knife and toss it away:

Once you have it out, you'll see the metal outer ring of the SiriusXM antenna. Take a jewlers screwdriver and gently push it backwards and then remove the brown housing:

Now you have the correct original SiriusXM radio connection to connect your blue sharkfin antenna to and the other end goes to the black antenna connectection on the Sirius unit (below the radio display unit).

This should save you the $70 on the 12'long aftermarket one. Please note that if you want tlo sell the stock 2012 radio, the satellite radio cannot be used with the sharkfin, but the aftermarket SiriusXM black little antenna will conect inside the radio.

I have yet to tackle the camera nor do I use the Aux usb hookup, sorry. If I sfind an easy solution to those, I'll post up.

Eric

So I'm still a bit lost... this gives you a metal connector that allows the blue jack from the dash of the truck to connect the back of the new 2015 radio? There's no need for the plastic male part of the jack that slips into the radio?

Yes it has both pieces. The bottom pice is the XM module. The gray jack on the back of the main radio is the USB jack. Somehow the 2012 radio has USB feed from somewhere else other than a separate jack.... Still trying to figure that out.

i happend to pm him and he said he never did install on pre 2012 only 2012 to 2012 and may have been just passing the info all i know is the one harness of the 28/20 adapter is for the bluetooth mic as shown here. i have 4 plugs on back my radio. would thst mean one plugs into the 2nd end of that harness and than 3plug into the 2015 radio???
