I almost bought the morimotos...glad I didn't as it seems they aren't that good. I'll have to look into the opt7 HID kit.

Does the 2016 Tacoma have a canbus system? I'm going to go ahead and order the opt 7 HID kit but do you get the canbus or no canbus one?

I have the HID low beam kit as well as the LED fog kit from Diode Dynamics and I've had no issues. I ran the low beam kit in my last vehicle for almost 3 years with no issues either, been very impressed with their products.

I will always pay for quality. Had nothing but good experiences with Phillips Xenon Bulbs. My 2008 TSX has them and I can't go back to a stock halogen.

Good call on the XD Phillips.
Definitely the best out there as far as HID goes. No bounce and no need for a harness to induce RF noise. Just plug and play.

There is a screw on the lower portion of the housing by the bulb input that looks like this (not on our truck but very similar screw and location)
    maxresdefault.jpg
Uses I think a 8mm socket. Park on a flat surface against a wall and start turning. Forgot which way lowers. I just use the socket and my fingers to turn it. No need for a wrench. Was able to access without removing the washer fluid or the battery.

Also, I am using DDM Tuning HIDs and I have the shaking while going over bumps. I have tried adjusting the rubber washer, making sure everything is tight and still get the shaking. Anyone have a fix for this? Is it just the design of the bulbs? Never had this issue with DDM HIDs in all of my past vehicles just the Taco.

Xenondepot Xtreme HIDs with Phillips 4300k bulbs and Phillips Ultinon LED fog lights installed. There is no bounce and the visibility down the road has improved immensely. I sealed all the plugs with electrical tape and dielectric grease even though they had waterproof seals.

With all that has been said about the Morimoto HIDs and LEDs lately I am glad that I chose Xenondepot and Phillips.

How well do your HIDs and LED fogs match? Looks good in picture but how is it in person?

I went with opt 7 LEDs in the highs and fogs, and opt 7 HIDs in the lows. I am very pleased with the outcome. They are very bright and look very sharp and clean

The morimoto kit from TRS is very nice. I have the 50w 5500k and couldn't be happier. I have never noticed the shake personally but I have seen it in videos. TRS has investigated the shake and attempted to resolve the issue for customers but they determined the issue resides within the OEM headlight housing itself... as in the projector itself shakes within the housing on occasion. This theory has been supported by others reporting the shake using entirely different HID kits from other manufacturers. The reason the shake isn't prevalent stock is because the halogens do not throw out enough light to notice it. As far as the other issues they are not wide spread and in my opinion probably a result of poor mounting spots

They are slightly bluer than my HIDs but my bulbs will also color shift to closer to 5000k after 100 hrs. I believe the quoted temperature was 4700.

I have looked for the dreaded HID shake but with the kit that I have it seems rock solid. They are no different than my OEM HIDs that came on my Acura TSX.

As someone whos ran BOTH the OPT7 and the Phillips kit back to back on my 2017 Tacoma I can say the extra $ is totally worth it.

Hell I paid 4x the cost to get the Philips LED fogs ($120) vs OPT7 fogs ($29) and that was totally worth it too.

I need to go back and swap back in my OPT7s to do some comparison pics.
