Not much actual "off roading" to be done here, at least legally. Some of the older forest roads could almost qualify as trails and the way things are going probably will be in a few years since USFS doesn't maintain them. Nice thing about this side of Mount Hood is they don't put up gates and there isn't massive garbage dumps like you see in Clackamas County.

My buddies and I hit the trails around here (central Oklahoma) about once a month or so. The closest LEGAL place is Sundog in Purcell, OK. The Arbuckles are fun too! I need to get some rock sliders, bumpers, skids and a lift before I do anything too crazy though. Every once in a while we bring along a friend with a bro truck (like the Chevy in the picture below) and they want to go mudding, without thinking about the fact that their heavy truck isn't very easy to tow out with a Taco or a T4R, but it's all a part of the fun.IMG_0981.jpgIMG_0983.jpg IMG_0989.jpg

You can wheel it, just don't put yourself in a situation that you will regret.

Red Rock Canyon, by Mojave. It was a fun trip but trail was rough with some pretty big rocks.

No pics, but I wheel mine about every two weeks. Hunt camp roads are pretty rough, sugar sand in some areas and deep water/mud pits when it rains in others. I pull a utility trailer with a 4-wheeler through most of it and usually have no problems getting through but takes 4-Lo at times (with yellow wire mod).

In spite of what some think, you don't have to destroy a truck to have fun and go places. After 43 years of owning 4wds, 17 different trucks, and spending a LOT of time in mud, dust, hills, creeks, and the occasional Mall parking lot, I don't like crawling around on the garage floor working on busted parts. So I use a little good judgement, go slow, and pick the safest line through the trails.....But I'm NOT staying on the pavement. No flippin' way! This is too much fun.
