Fuck, so sorry to hear man, I know how hard that is. A new pup is tough to get used to but become family quickly.

    Yea, miss him all time.

This guy is adjusting pretty quickly and you hardly know he's in the truck. He just lays in the back seat and sleeps.

Did you get a new one yet?

    Over my weekend I...

Permanently mounted the gopro mount. The adhesive lasted about a month...

Then Saturday I was cruising around Stillwater Pass area and came across these fellas who asked if I could help winch there side by side back up to the trail. Apparently one of there 16yr old daughters was driving a bit to fast and rolled it down this bank 3 or 4 times. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. I think the 4 occupants were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. I'd say someone was watching after them to have avoided all the trees on the way down and coming to a rest right side up. Anyway the carnage... 3 tires off the bead, broken tie rod end, smashed up body and a bent roll cage! I'm sure there is more than that. Wish I would have gotten some better pics.

They were way to generous on there tip too!

Anyway continued cruising around and took this picture of the truck on Gravel Mountain trail just after a small hail storm.

And I really can't complain about my
    commute.
Awesome sunrise this morning. Gotta be thankful for every day you've got.

Managed another epic trip over the last few days despite finding my rear wheel bearings are going out 2
days before hand. (Quite the debacle with that. One of the retainers was not installed on each axle when I had dealer replace them a year ago) Decided to go for it anyway. It did alter the plans a bit though. I wasn't willing to run Black Bear Pass with only front brakes.

Started out picking my friend up at DIA and did a little climbing around the Canal Zone in Golden. Then headed west to set up camp at the base of Uncompagre Peak. Didn't get into Lake City until dark so kind of bummed we didn't get to see the beginning of Engineer Pass in daylight. Looked like there was some cool mining equipment around. Anyway we camped at the end of Nellie Creek trail where the trailhead for Uncompagre starts.

This guy doesn't doesn't like the cold

Started our hike around 7:15 and made it to the summit at 10:00.

Not the best weather to start

Heading back down Nellie Creek trail

Continued down Engineer Pass to Animas Forks

From Animas we took US 550 into Ouray and that road is no joke for being paved, very sharp hair pins and it was wet. From there we continued to Telluride and set up camp on Last Dollar road.

    Nice views from camp

Woke up and headed to town for a bit to kill some time waiting to meet up with a friend. Telluride has a "free box" and found a childs sweater that fit Tinder quite well!

    His first ride on gondola.

Drove up to Bridal Veil Falls

Did a little climbing while we waited.

Met up with my friend and we did the Via Ferrata. Unfortunaly I left my phone at the truck so I don't have any pictures to share but it was awesome! Quite the rush being 400ft off the ground, on a vertical wall, standing on basically rebar steps!

Headed back to town and up to the village for some live music then back to camp and headed home the following morning.

Wait those axles have been on like that for a year?! How it wasn't leaking sooner is beyond me. I would have thought that shit would have started leaking the next day.

It pretty much did... My first thought was that I messed up when installing the seals then had Toyota do one with the frame replacement and noticed it was leaking once I got out here to Colorado. Second thought was my breather was clogged but I checked that and it's clear. The thought that the dealership screwed up when they did my bearings never really crossed my mind until I was reading through Brett's write up about having to adjust where the ring was seated. Then it clicked what my issue probably was... Just now getting around to checking it out.

Lesson learned. Don't ever assume anything is done right even if it is done by a professional. Everyone makes mistakes.

Last oil change I decided to see how my motor is doing after 210000 miles by sending out a sample. Everything looks to be pretty good. I was half expecting to find a bit of coolant since my reservoir is a bit lower than I last recall.

Anyone know what the copper could be? I'm not very familiar with engines. Any bushings in there?

Had me curious as to what the high copper content indicated. Did some digging, found this from Bob the Oil Guy.

    "Copper
Copper is widely used due to its high ductility and thermal conductivity. It is mainly utilized in bushings and bearings such as: crankshaft journal bearings, connecting rod bearings, camshaft bushings, piston wrist pin bushings, thrust washers, and even heat exchangers (oil coolers)."
